Problems reading a video

Hello,
I have been using BSplayer for years but now I happen to have a problem.
When i want to read a long video (say 500 MB), the video starts, but, within a few seconds, it stops, the audio is still going on.
Is it a problem of cache, memory ???
I have an Athlon 2800 and 1GB Ram.
