Special characters (diacritics) used in your language (portughese, yes ?) will be correctly displayed if you select from subtitles properties -> fonts an apropiate script for them (such as central / east european -> I know Portugal isn't in central / east Europe but the charset is the best for that)

Yes, indeed, Windows won't allow chars like the ones above to be used in the filenames. But, do you have such a file ? I think I didn't understood exactly what you mean. Do you use google translator ?
