cvs update... codecs.conf has changed about a week ago
or:
force using mp3lib with -afm 1

> Also, what is the fastest audio codec supported by mplayer? 
It depends on your CPU. for AMD mp3lib is faster, for SSE usually
l3codeca.acm wins.
