Petting Zoo is an all ages, interactive and animated iOS app by author and illustrator Christoph Niemann. It’s available to purchase at the iTunes Store. We have featured Niemann’s work several times in the past.

For the past 35 years researcher and inventor Steve Mann has been wearing computerized eyewear devices of his own design. His earlier designs from the late 70s and early 80s were clunky helmets that made him look like a space marine from Aliens. More recent efforts such as the EyeTap are sleeker and include sophisticated features like infrared and high dynamic range vision. Mann talks about his 35 years of computerized vision, and offers unique insights on Google Glass and other recent arrivals to wearable computing, over at IEEE Spectrum.

In cooperation with Dracogen and Wayside Creations ― the makers of Fallout: Nuka Break ― Machinima will be hosting a fan-made, live-action miniseries set in Valve’s Portal universe. The series, called Aperture R&D, will center on Aperture Science employees battling for the title of Lab Team of the Month, and features portals, turrets, companion cubes, and maybe even some cake. Aperture R&D is set to premiere on March 15th.
