FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The United States strongly condemns today’s craven assault on a restaurant in Kabul that killed at least 13 people, including Afghans, UN staff and other friends of Afghanistan. Our thoughts are with the victims, the injured and their families.

Through this attack, the Taliban have killed and injured Afghans and others working with them to build a peaceful and prosperous future for the Afghan people. Despite today’s attack, the United States and the international community will not waver in its commitment to stand with the people of Afghanistan.
