UFS (Unix File System) is the default file system used by all unix-family operating systems, such as BSD OS and Sun Solaris OS. UFS is also referred as the Berkeley Fast File System, FFS or the BSD Fast File System. However, Windows doesn't support UFS file system. A hard drive formatted as UFS partition will not be recognized by Windows.
