Known Bugs
Since ICEMail is a relatively new program, it has not had a lot
of time in the field. Therefore, the current known bug list
is short, and most definitely imcomplete.
Please send all bug reports to
icemail@ice.com.
When sumitting a bug report, please remember to include your
operating system, Java release, and any other pertinent info.
- Printing Is Weak
The Java printing layer is still in progress, but it does work.
The problem with ICEMail is that there appears to be no Java
component that will layout the message text to print,
thus ICEMail has to do the text layout internally, and does not
handle the problem perfectly. For instance, tabs are not handled
at all, and print as little squares. Furtermore, printing is
the only code in ICEMail that appears to be capable of core
dumping the Java interpretter. Thus, I recommend that you save
any work in progress before printing.
- Authentication Retries Don't Always Work
When you are prompted for authentication (user and password),
and you type in the wrong information, the attempt by ICEMail
to allow you to retry does not always succeed. If you fail,
you can use the 'Reload Stores' command to reload the store's
icon to retry opening it.
- Message Expunge Occasionally Gets Stuck
If you get a Messaging Exception when expunging messages
marked for delete, fear not. The expunge worked, but there
appears to be a small problem in the JavaMail API. However,
you will need to "open" the mailbox again, as what is displayed
is no longer connected.
