JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)
is a way to store images by compressing digital images,
especially for natural or real scenes. However, it is not
suite for online drawings and cartoons. When compressing
images, some information will be lost. But human eyes won稚
find the inconspicuous difference. There are two types of
JPEG formats which are full-colored (stores 24 bits per
pixel) and grayscale (stores 8 bits per pixel). Transparency
or animation can稚 be displayed by JPEGs.
WMV contains video and audio
streams respectively using Windows Media Video codec and
Windows Media Audio codec. ASF is Advanced Streaming Format. It
is an extensible file format developed primarily for storing
synchronized digital video, audio, subtitle streams, or
transmitting data on the internet. ASF is also a multimedia
container of Windows Media Video or Windows Media Audio.

EMF (Enhanced Metafile) is a metafile
format designed by Microsoft, and a successor to the older
WMF format. EMF is a newer 32-bit version with additional
commands. It is easy to read on MS Windows computer while
harder to read on other platforms. EMF files are usually
stored between 5 to 10 KB in size, and EMF images do not
support transparency. The EMZ format is a compressed version
of the EMF format. EMF+ is an extension to EMF that allows
GDI+ records to be stored. There are two variations on the
EMF+ format: EMF+ Only and EMF+ Dual.
