VCD means video Compact Disk which is a
compressed image format. VCD is a full-motion, full-screen
broadcast video standards developed jointly by electrical
manufactures like SONY, Philip, JVC, etc. With its video
compressed in MPEG-1 compression way and audio compressed in
MPEG-1 layer 2 way, even the trained professionals cannot
distinguish the original CD format from CD format after
compressing in such way. VCD is widely used in Asia and
owing to its features of free code and lower cost, it is
sure that it will not be replaced by DVD in a short time.
WMV contains video and audio
streams respectively using Windows Media Video codec and
Windows Media Audio codec.
To convert vcd to wmv file, if the VCD
file is encoded with VCD1.0 format, it is not necessary to
install any additional VCD decoder. If the vcd file is
encoded with 1.1 or 2.0 format, please install DVD players
such as WinDVD Player or PowerDVD Player, which include the
