IF ANY of the he-men of the Southern 半球 or the hotheads from Europe 選ぶ a fight with England they will 調印する their own World Cup death 令状.

If the Springboks, the French, the Australians or the All 黒人／ボイコットs are planning to take out Jonny Wilkinson they should think again.

Welcome to The War Room, Clive Woodward 統括するing.

For four years, the War Room - so called by the 長，率いる coach himself - has been the 神経 centre of England's obsessive （選挙などの）運動をする to turn the world of rugby union on its 長，率いる. It will be 組立て直すd in Perth within 24 hours of Woodward's 仕事 軍隊 arriving in Australia today.

There is not one man with us who is not of the same committed mindset as ツバメ Johnson and Jonny Wilkinson.

'There is not one man here you would not want beside you in the ざん壕s.

No, rugby is not war but it is the ultimate team game because the players rely so 絶対 on each other. There is not one man here who will let a team-mate 負かす／撃墜する.

'All the talk of 動機づけ is bull****. The reality is that the coach can de-動機づける the players by 選ぶing the wrong team.

'The players know who should be selected for the 明確な／細部 challenge at any given moment. You can't fool them, only deflate them.

FROM the start, my 職業 has alway s been to create the optimum 環境 for this 最高の challenge, to 供給（する） every last 原子 of the （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） which will give them the best chance of winning this World Cup, then to 選ぶ the team to do the 職業, game by game.

Never.' Is this why he dropped Lawrence Dallaglio from the match against Australia at Twickenham last November in which he was 予定 to collect his 50th cap?

'Lawrence hated me at the time but the group knew the level of his game had slipped. Now he has come to realise that if I had not done that to him, England would not be going into the World Cup as favourites and he would not have been going to Australia at all. They have come together through 危機, 論争 and 時折の despair not just to challenge the might of New Zealand, Australia and South Africa but to rise above as the No.1 team on earth.

'I, for one, will never divulge what was said. There will be no 調書をとる／予約する.

If I did not believe we could, then I should not be in this 職業. If I did not believe it possible, I could not have taken this team to New Zealand and Australia this summer.

'Wilko is a fantastic player and a wonderful young man so everyone seemed 脅すd of what might happen to him 負かす／撃墜する Under.

'But if I had to 包む even one player in cotton wool we would not be favourites to 勝利，勝つ the World Cup - and happy to be so.

'England had never won in Australia. Think about that.

Never. We had to 証明する we could do it. 証明する it not to ourselves but to the Aussies. There is no hiding place in rugby. There is 適切な時期 for big men. And no 適切な時期 is more priceless than the one on 申し込む／申し出 now.' He might have 追加するd that no man is bigger than the England captain. 危機 and 論争 stalked the dressing-room again when Johnson was caught on camera throwing a punch.

'There is no 長，率いる-banging in our dressing-room before we go out.

Woodward makes no such 仮定／引き受けることs, 主張するing that he has only the 開始 match with Georgia on his mind. 'There will be upsets,' he says. 'Our 優先 is to make sure we are not on the wrong end of one of them.' If England do go all the way to November 22 he will not be surprised if it is Australia, not New Zealand, who 直面する them in the final.

England 勝利d 42- 6 in thrilling style and Woodward says: 'That 勝利，勝つ sends us into the World Cup as favourites and proud and happy to be so. Even Carling seems 納得させるd, although Woodward would not be alone if he wondered whether the U-turn from critic to 楽天主義者 has been 誘発するd by the television 網状組織 for which he will be working in Australia.

'I don't understand why they hate England so much but it doesn't bother me.

I am very, very proud to be English. I love my country, which is why this is the ultimate 職業 for me.' Bigger than the Lions? 'I was gutted when they gave the Lions 小旅行する to a foreigner.

They passed on me without so much as a phone call. But if they call me to be 経営者／支配人 next time I will only take it if it does not 干渉する with England. For me, it will always be England first.' And only Englishmen in the War Room, even though England's other 国家の football team is managed by a Swede?

'And not only for England. Why have むちの跡s gone for a foreigner when there are plenty of good Welsh coaches?' Although Woodward 雇うd Kiwi John Mitchell as his No.2 for three years, he says now: 'I would not 交換（する） one of my coaches for a New Zealander or an Australian.

Not one. And in Andy Robinson I have the best coach in the world.' It is Robinson who pores over the ビデオs, 分析 every player and 始める，決めるs the new 的s.

'This team goes into the World Cup knowing it has no excuses.' says Woodward. 'Together, I believe we have transformed England's rugby. Now we are asking them to より勝る themselves. Like Olympic 競技者s, they are 存在 challenged to produce new personal bests on the biggest 行う／開催する／段階 of all.

'If we do that and it is not enough, we will be able to live with ourselves.

If we give of our 絶対の best and someone is better than us we will be able to shake their 手渡すs and come home to get on with the 残り／休憩（する） of our lives.

敗北・負かす would only haunt us if we fell below the 基準s we are setting ourselves. This group of Englishmen are ready to go beyond 存在 favourites.'

There are those so unnerved by Woodward's かかわり合い that, when they whisper の中で themselves, they call him crazy.

If they are 権利, then his is a glorious insanity.
