Samantha tells tales about her 堅い childhood

Award-winning actress Samantha Morton is to direct a film about her childhood - her first foray behind the camera.

"It's about 存在 fostered and growing up with other kids," Samantha told me. "It's something I've 手配中の,お尋ね者 to 調査する."

She has been working with screenwriter Tony Grisoni, who wrote the much under-率d Brothers Of The 長,率いる, on developing a screenplay about her childhood in Nottingham.

"The story will be fictionalised, but it's my story," she said. "The things that happened to me in care will be there, but I think it's easier to tell it if it's fictionalised, because I'm going to weave in other stories about other kids."

Samantha hopes to shoot the film, at 現在の 肩書を与えるd The Unloved, in September. The actress won a Golden Globe award this year for her powerful 描写 of Myra Hindley in Tom Hopper's Channel 4 film Longford, based on a script by Peter Morgan.

Andrew Eaton, who runs 革命 Films with Michael Winterbottom, will produce The Unloved. He said he was impressed with Samantha's insight about her time in care. "She's 熱烈な about it and it's an important experience for her," Eaton told me.

Casting will start as soon as Grisoni's script has been 完全にするd. Samantha wasn't 確かな whether or not she'll take a small 役割 in the movie. Between now and the autumn, she may 行為/法令/行動する in one or two other films, as pre-生産/産物 work on The Unloved 進歩s.
