Learning the lessons of this shameful war

It may not have felt like a historic moment in our country's 軍の history. But that's what yesterday was.

After six years of bitter and 血まみれの 衝突 - longer than the Second World War - i t was the day Britain's 独立した・無所属 関与 in Iraq （機の）カム to an end.

True, our 軍隊／機動隊s may yet 支える その上の 死傷者s (God forbid) before the end of July, when the last are to leave. But after their handover to American 命令（する）, the final 撤退 has begun.

Though the Mail has 終始一貫して …に反対するd the war, let nobody belittle the sacrifice of the men and women who had to carry out our 政治家，政治屋s' orders, at the cost of 179 British dead and many more hideously 負傷させるd.

By their heroism, they have helped rid Iraq of a 残虐な 独裁政治, 設立するing the beginnings of 僕主主義 in its place. They have also done 価値のある work training the Iraqi army.

But the truth is that this has been a いっそう少なく-than-glorious 軍の escapade - and a 深く，強烈に 損失ing 一時期／支部 in our history.

The 決定／判定勝ち（する） to go to war is the most serious a 総理大臣 can take. Yet far from arguing an honest 事例／患者 for the 侵略, based on the facts 利用できる to him, Tony Blair sought to invent one.

What shocks Auntie

In the 注目する，もくろむs of the BBC, the real スキャンダル over MPs' expenses is not that so many of our 立法議員s are dishonestly 非難する taxpayers for just about everything they buy for their homes and families.

No. What really shocks Auntie, who led her 公式発表s on the story yesterday, is that a mole at the ありふれたs is said to have been trying to sell 詳細（に述べる）s of the expenses （人命などを）奪う，主張するs to the マスコミ.

The 法廷，裁判所s have 支配するd that these （人命などを）奪う，主張するs must be published, under the admirable Freedom of （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） 行為／法令／行動する.

Does the BBC believe we shouldn't be told how our money is spent?
