Amazing nonsense: Ed Miliband said Cameron had made a '壊滅的な mistake' by 演習ing Britain's 拒否権 last week

Ed Miliband said yesterday that David Cameron had made a ‘壊滅的な mistake’ by 演習ing Britain’s 拒否権 last week. In so doing, the 労働 leader was echoing the received 知恵 of the Lib Dems, the BBC and several European leaders over 最近の days.

によれば them, the 総理大臣 has left us ‘危険に exposed’ or ‘危険に 孤立するd’ as a result of the 拒否権. Britain is 一般的に 代表するd as a one-man 禁止（する）d versus the 26 other members of the European Union, which will find itself fatally 除外するd from their counsels.

This is amazing nonsense. The question that 利益／興味s me is whether the 政治家，政治屋s and commentators who endlessly bang on about our supposed marginalisation are 存在 stupid or 故意に dishonest. Or could it be that they are 存在 both?

In the first place, Britain has by its own choice been 孤立するd from the central European 事業／計画（する） ― the euro ― since it was 開始する，打ち上げるd on January 1, 1999. We have deliberately stood aside from the 通貨の union now 伴う／関わるing 17 members of the EU, 含むing four of its five largest economies.

It is a mercy that we have. Although the likes of 副 総理大臣 Nick Clegg and Energy 長官 Chris Huhne once 勧めるd that we join the euro as soon as possible, the then 労働 （ドイツなどの）首相／（大学の）学長, Gordon Brown, resisted such サイレン／魅惑的な calls, and in 影響 over-支配するd the 総理大臣, Tony Blair. Now Messrs Clegg and Huhne and all the other erstwhile プロの／賛成の-euro evangelists seem glad we are not part of the 選び出す／独身 通貨.

So the very fact of staying outside the euro 孤立するd us from the mainstream. And that 孤立／分離 has in fact 保護するd us from the worst headwinds of the eurozone. Things may be bad for the British economy, but almost no one 疑問s that they would be far, far worse had we 調印するd up.

And if 孤立／分離 from the 支配するing euro 事業／計画（する） has been such an advantage over the past １０年間, who can 疑問 that it is likely to be an even greater boon in the 未来? To bemoan our 除外 from this club is tantamount to wishing we were on board a ship that is steaming remorselessly に向かって the 激しく揺するs.

As it is, we are in a lifeboat, admittedly in 騒然とした waters, but fortunate not to be marooned with all the others on the deck of a 大型船 that seems 確かな to be 本気で 穴を開けるd, and やめる likely to 沈む. Who wouldn’t want to be 除外するd from the worst 影響s of a probable 災害?

Perhaps you think I am 誇張するing, but I don’t believe I am. Since last week’s ‘historic’ 首脳会議 in Brussels, which was supposed to produce a 決定的な new 財政上の 一括 to save the euro, the 通貨 has 急落するd against the dollar and the 続けざまに猛撃する, and stands at an 11-month low.

The 率s at which Italy and Spain are 軍隊d to borrow money have risen, and in the 見解（をとる） of most 経済学者s are at unsustainable levels. Almost no one thinks a new 200 billion euro 基金 輪郭（を描く）d in Brussels will be enough to を取り引きする Italy’s problems ― let alone those of Spain, フラン and others ― and in any 事例／患者 No.?10 確認するd yesterday that Britain will not be 与える／捧げるing its （ーのために）とっておくd £30billion に向かって this 量.

In short, the euro’s tribulati ons are even more 悲惨な than at the end of last week. Those who have spent the past few days whingeing about our 孤立／分離 are 論証するing? the sort of parochial self-最大の関心事 of which they often 告発する／非難する their eurosceptic adversaries. Mr Cameron’s use of the 拒否権 is an almost irrelevant sideshow in comparison with what may be the 差し迫った implosion of the euro.

Thank God we are 孤立するd as far as is possible from this 明らかに doomed 事業／計画（する）! Of course, no one can say whether it will take weeks, months or years to unravel, or in what form that will take place. Britain will inescapably 苦しむ when it does happen, but not as much as most members of the eurozone.

To 裁判官 by 最近の opinion 投票s, most British people 是認する Mr Cameron’s 拒否権, and his 試みる／企てる to keep us as far as possible from a 嵐／襲撃する over which we can have no 支配（する）／統制する. If only 労働 and Lib Dem leaders were as far-sighted.

Smelling victory: To 裁判官 by 最近の opinion 投票s, most British people 是認する Mr Cameron's 拒否権

にもかかわらず 調印するs that 労働 was becoming more eurosceptic, Mr Miliband has regurgitated all the usual nonsense about 大災害s and 孤立／分離, while 存在 seemingly unaware or unconcerned that the euro stands at the very 辛勝する／優位 of a real 災害. The 欠如（する） of democratic accountability in the EU ― or the fact that 僕主主義 itself has been 一時停止するd in Italy ―? never appears to 関心 the leader of the いわゆる People’s Party.

As for Mr Clegg, he has be en even more contemptible, 最初 支援 the 総理大臣’s 姿勢, and then attacking him after having been got at by Lib Dem 同僚s. He, too, has 率直に fretted about our supposed marginalisation, as has his self-opinionated and loquacious 助言者, the even more annoying 米，稲 Ashdown.

Most 冷笑的な and unscrupulous of all has been Scotland’s First 大臣 and Scottish 国家主義者 leader, Alex Salmond. He had the effrontery to tell the BBC Mr Cameron should have 協議するd him before 演習ing the 拒否権, and 示唆するd ‘決定的な fishing 会談’ this week in Brussels might be 土台を崩すd ― やめる forgetting that our 会員の地位 of the EU has led to the 近づく 破壊 of Scotland’s once buoyant fishing 産業.

The slippery Mr Salmond also skirted around the reality that an 独立した・無所属 Scotland which joined the euro would have to 受託する 会計の union, and the 経済的な suzerainty of Berlin. Would most Scots really regard such an 結果 as より望ましい to union with England? I 疑問 it.

Does any of these gentlemen really believe Mr Cameron’s use of the 拒否権 量s to the calamity they pretend? Perhaps they really have been 条件d to repeat the empty cliches of our political class. If they were a bit smarter they might realise that most people 味方する with Mr Cameron, not them. One 投票 示唆するd that around half of Lib Dem 支持者s (reputedly the most europhile of 投票者s) 支援する the 総理大臣.

By the way, we shouldn’t 受託する the idea that all 26 member 明言する／公表するs are monolithically against us. Many are fearful of German 経済的な hegemony but believe they have no 選択 for the time 存在 but to go along with the 事業／計画（する）. All the same, the Czech 政府 示すd on Tuesday that it has not yet 受託するd the 取引，協定 on 会計の union.

Nor should we forget that the advantages of 接近 to the 選び出す／独身 Market remain as they did before the 拒否権. It is childish to suppose that all member 明言する／公表するs are going to ギャング（団） up on us at every 適切な時期. They sell us more than we sell them, and Britain is the second largest contributor to the EU 予算. There are many 関係 of affection, and they need us as much as we need them.

So let’s not be 脅すd by the spectre of 存在 left alone. Enough of this stupidity and dishonesty! If, as seems ますます likely, the euro 崩壊（する）s, we shall be happy not to be part of it. If, by any chance, it doesn’t, we should be 平等に relieved. Either way, there is a 広大な／多数の／重要な 取引，協定 to be said in favour of 孤立／分離, at least for now.
