Four mothers who epitomise everything that's awful about Britain
Motherhood is a 裁判,公判, a blessing, a gift. Most mums will tell you that having a baby is the one 選び出す/独身 thing that made sense of their lives, made them 完全にする, made them whole.
Having a family is the best thing they ever did ― how many times have we heard that? Yet tragically, not everyone thinks that way.
Out on the 利ざやs of society, a baby can be many things: an afterthought, a hindrance, a means to an end, a terrible surprise. They are bundles of joy not for their precious little selves, but for their 長所s どこかよそで. Most 悪名高くも of all, as 記念品s to be 物々交換するd to 確実にする better 住宅 and 利益s.
All of this in a society which 活発に encourages women to do so. Where did we go so wrong?
Two mothers are in the news this week?.?.?.?no, let’s make that four mothers. A quartet of mums who, between them, epitomise everything that is bad and getting worse about this country.
Most shocking is the 事例/患者 of the 12-year-old girl, who has given birth. The father is only 13, which makes them the youngest parents in the UK.

New 記録,記録的な/記録する: A couple have become Britain's youngest parents after a girl 老年の 12 gave birth. Their 直面するs have been pixellated to 保護する their 身元s
We profess ourselves to be horrified by child brides in India and Afghanistan. This is the sort of thing we 推定する/予想する to happen in uneducated tribes in 第三世界 countries, yet it happened here, in our 中央.
The child’s own mother was only 15 when she had her, which says ― I am sorry, but it does ― everything you need to know.
The girl’s father ― not with her mother any longer, no surprises there ― says he thinks it’s 広大な/多数の/重要な. His argument is that his daughter is not on 麻薬s, a baby is a wondrous thing and she is in a committed and loving 関係.
I feel わずかに sick that he is crediting his little daughter with 複雑にするd emotional and 性の feelings that she cannot かもしれない have, but it 明確に makes him feel better about his (非,不,無) 役割 in her 壊滅的な しつけ.

'Working the system': Sinead Clarkson, 36, got 妊娠している at 15 and has never had a 職業. She says the 利益s system doesn't makes it financially worthwhile to work
Come on. At her age, she is too young to understand what a 関係 is, unless it is the one she enjoys with her teddy. 公式文書,認める that she got 妊娠している when she was only 11 years old, and neither her mother nor her father even knew until she was eight months gone.
This is more than lax parenting. To me it 示唆するs serious 怠慢,過失, perhaps even a neglect worthy of 起訴. Will that happen? Of course not. But I’d have both parents 逮捕(する)d, just the same.
一方/合間, in Rochdale, a 36-year-old 失業 mother encouraged her own 19-year-old daughter to ‘work the system’ by having a baby, which she has duly gone and done.
Mother-of-two Sinead Clarkson has no 資格s, has never worked and takes in £1,200 a month from the 明言する/公表する. ‘I am better off on 利益s. I 辞退する to work for a pittance and struggle,’ she says.
Bad enough that her own life has been stunted by a system that has 窒息させるd any 誘発する of ambition or 運動, now she is 勧めるing in a new 世代 who will behave in 正確に/まさに the same manner. Her daughter has done what Mum said, and is 推定する/予想するing her first child in three months.
原因(となる) for 祝賀? Yeah ― in our Cash-for-Kids system, she すぐに gets an extra £400 a month in 利益s once the baby is born. Woohoo! The Clarkson mums not only make a mockery of the system, they コースを変える money
away from the 貧窮化した and the desperate, who need and deserve the money so much more.
They 港/避難所’t even tried to get 職業s. And にもかかわらず the millions spent on sex education and the 役割 models who are supposed to foster ambition in young women, far too many girls still dream of nothing more than getting knocked up.
It does not help that sex education in schools is 非,不,無-judgmental, or that contraceptives are 手渡すd out with no について言及する of moral 境界s.
But I don’t 非難する the 明言する/公表する, I 非難する the parents. They are supposed to be the moral 後見人s.
‘Maybe we could have done more,’ said the father of the 12-year-old mum, which has to be the understatement of the year. ‘We cannot keep her wrapped up her whole life,’? he 主張するs.
罰金, but she had not even reached the age of 同意. She is and was a child who needed to be 保護するd. At the very least there is 監督, discipline, teaching 権利 from wrong and taking an 利益/興味 in your child’s life. The basics of family life, so terribly ignored here.
We’re all supposed to clap our 手渡すs and say: ‘Babies, how lovely! Don’t be judgmental.’ Both these babies might have tremendous lives, rise above their circumstances and the short-sightedness of young mothers who have brought them into the world with all the planning of an impulse 購入(する) in Primark.?

に引き続いて in her mother's footsteps: Ms Clarkson (pictured left) 収容する/認めるs to encouraging her eldest daughter Melissa, 19, (pictured 権利) to have a baby so she can live an '平易な life on 利益s'. Melissa is now 妊娠している
Yes, it might turn out like a Ken Loach film, with the 静かな nobility of the morally 貧窮化した 打ち勝つing all 障害s in the end. The 13-year-old father might stand by the 12-year-old mother ― until the next girl or football match or Xbox distraction comes along.
The teenage girl who had a baby just so she could get a bigger flat and more 利益s might turn out to be the mother of the year. Yet what are the chances?
The cycle goes on, teenage mum begets teenage mum begets teenage mum, 運動ing 負かす/撃墜する a one-way street to a dead-end life. They have failed and been failed in every way. By their own mothers most of all.
Diaz swerves 戦う/戦い of the curves
Cameron Diaz 星/主役にするs in the new film The Other Woman with curvy Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton and actress Leslie Mann.
The 陰謀(を企てる) so far. Three women find out they have been dating the same man and together 計画(する) their 復讐 on the unsuspecting cheater. Girl 力/強力にする! Not やめる.?
Kate Upton, Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann 提起する/ポーズをとる at a photocall in Sydney for their new film The Other Woman
かもしれない in an 試みる/企てる to 獲得する publicity for the new chick flick, it has been hinted that Diaz is jealous of Upton’s voluptuous 団体/死体.
Yet isn’t it really irresponsible to 促進する the tantalising, headline-spinning notion of one beautiful woman 存在 jealous of the different 団体/死体 形態/調整 of another beautiful woman? When will Hollywood ever learn?
Even if this is one cat spat I am not buying. ‘I am 20 years older than her. I’m not trying to be her,’ said Diaz, when asked about competing with the shapely model in what cultural commentators call ‘the bikini 火刑/賭けるs’. やめる 権利, too.
Singleton Diaz is sporty and sexy, with the glowing 信用/信任 of a fortysomething woman in her prime.
Jealous? Not her.

They're 支援する! Padma Lakshmi in a bib'n'trew combo - the modern 同等(の) of dungarees
準備する to be very 脅すd. Dungarees are 支援する. Padma Lakshmi and Kris Jenner (no, me neither) have been photographed in the new, 最高の hi-fashion bib’n’trew combos.
Who dares follow their example? For women of my 世代, it is third or かもしれない fourth time around for these aberrations of taste.
There were our childhood ones, followed by a 復活 in the Eighties, when I 解任する my own 有望な green dungarees that I thought were so fabulous, but now realise made me look like a failed Rainbow presenter と一緒に Zippy and Bungle.
Then, for some, there was cramming your kids into Osh Kosh ones. And here they are again.
Hmmm. Even on Padma they look like something you might wear to howk tatties. Or, for 非,不,無 Scots, serve ワイン in a posh restaurant.
Why ARE women so desperate to copy Kate?
Who are these weird and insecure women, who 急ぐ out to buy every dress the Duchess of Cambridge wears? It is not that Kate’s 発展させるd style of understated elegance does not have its charms, but surely grown women can 選ぶ a frock for themselves without having to check it out on the DofC first?
You don’t see men 急ぐing out to buy Prince William’s 悲劇の dad ジーンズs, do you? No, thank goodness.
However, never mind the 着せる/賦与するs. On the 王室の visit to NZ and Oz, Kate has been nothing short of sensational. She is always charming, immaculate, perfect. More than that, whether on a boat, in a school or 会合 高官s, she always looks thrilled to be wherever she is ? and delighted to be talking to whoever she is talking to.
That is a gift, one that Princess Diana did not always have. Diana could be moody and troubled, but now we understand why. Behind the Palace curtains, her marriage was a mess and her life was in uproar.
Sunny, beaming Kate operates from a 激しく揺する solid marriage and a husband who supports her all the way. It really shows ― and it makes a big difference.
Pause for a moment to remember that only a few years ago she was just another pretty girl from the Home 郡s. Now she is a 完全に modern duchess, a credit to us all.
This girl is going places
Oooh, excitement is building about one of the most 熱心に 心配するd films of the year, the 審査する adaptation of Gone Girl, the terrific thriller by Gillian Flynn, which is 予定 out in October.
Fans of the 調書をとる/予約する ― that 含むs me ― can’t wait to see what they’ve done with it. So far, so 約束ing. Ben Affleck appears in a 荒涼とした trailer as the (刑事)被告 husband. ‘I did not kill my wife,’ he croaks.

A Gone Girl: Rosamund Pike will 星/主役にする as Amy in the film adaptation of the thriller by Gillian Flynn
The 女性(の) lead is 存在 played by frangible British actress Rosamund Pike, who always looks as if spun sugar wouldn’t melt in her mouth. She knows she has a 仕事 on her 手渡すs to bring the dark character of Amy, the 行方不明の wife, to life. Can she do it? I hope so!
I know that David Cameron needs some 質 time with his family. I know that his hairless 膝s and hideous, curd-coloured calves need their 年次の 公表/放送 before they petrif
y, like tree stumps, under his Westminster 控訴s.
I know he believes in God, even if God might have a 職業 believing in him.
Yet the fact that he is out in Lanzarote does fill me with foreboding. With UKIP marching on his 側面に位置するs, jets 存在 readied for Russia, an 選挙 in the 沖 and the Scots 集まりing on the 国境, I hope he knows what he is doing.
It is nice that he can relax ― but can we?
