Saving our way of life? Tell that to Christian Oxford

So much for our "way of life" - you know, the one our leaders told us they went to war to save.

The 深く，強烈に English, 深く，強烈に Christian city of Oxford, one of the homes of 解放する／自由な thought, is now 存在 asked to 受託する the Islamic call to 祈り wafting from イスラム教寺院 loudspeakers over its spires and ドームs.

If that is not a 脅し to our "way of life", then I don't know what is. 許すing the 正規の／正選手 electronic 布告／宣言 of Allah's 最高位 in a British city is not 寛容, but a 降伏する of the sky to a wholly different culture. Just you wait and see what 対抗者s of this 計画／陰謀 are （刑事）被告 of.

What about the nonsensical, illogical frenzy の中で our 支配者s to snoop on us, docket us, lock us up without 裁判，公判 and make us undress at airports? That's a pretty major 強襲，強姦 on our "way of life", as I 解任する it 存在 until very recently.

And of course it is …を伴ってd by the laxest 国境 支配（する）／統制するs you can imagine for those coming in, and the 熱心な 取り去る／解体するing of what remains of our Christian culture in schools, public 儀式s and everything else.

And now we're talking to the Taliban, one of the twin bogeymen with which the 政府 has sought to 脅す us into 受託 of an entanglement of '安全' 対策 which have yet to 妨げる a 選び出す／独身 乱暴／暴力を加える.

No 疑問 we would talk to 'al Qaeda' too, if such an organisation 存在するd, but - as all 知能 men know - it is a vague collection of 競争相手 派閥s, lumped together to 脅す the ill-知らせるd into 降伏するing their liberties.

So much for the 広大な／多数の／重要な War on Terror, which has neither saved our way of life nor 敗北・負かすd Islamist extremism. What did you 推定する／予想する from the very same people who 降伏するd to the アイルランド共和国軍, a genu ine 脅し that really did 存在する (and still does) and which we could have beaten? What a lot of hogwash we are fed. The 殺人 of Benazir Bhutto is a disgusting 罪，犯罪, but people really should grow up a bit about Pakistan.

This is a country that still has 封建的 landlords and slavery, which is utterly ethnically divided, speaking at least nine languages.

It is 深く，強烈に economically sick, corrupt as a 死体, and haunted by the 悪意のある ISI 知能 機関. より小数の than half its people, and only 36 per cent of its women, can even read.

It has no heroes, or ヘロインs for that 事柄. 行方不明になる Bhutto was a pretty terrible 首相 when in office, and at one time a chum of the Taliban.

If we have learned nothing else from the Iraq adventure, surely it is time we しっかり掴むd that other countries are the 商売／仕事 of the people who live in them. We have やめる enough to worry about at home without trying to 課す our own wobbly political system on a nation where it couldn't work for five minutes (does it work here, 現実に?).

Yes, our way of life does need saving, but おもに from our own 政府.

1957 - and the Queen's 破滅的な prophecy

Far more 利益／興味ing than the Queen's worthily dull 2007 Christmas broadcast was the 1957 見解／翻訳／版, now 利用できる on YouTube. I am amazed this 破壊分子 構成要素 has 生き残るd. She managed to make a 破滅的な prophecy about the death of morals and the 崩壊（する） of 正直さ which were about to （海，煙などが）飲み込む us. And imagine anyone daring to 引用する from The 巡礼者's 進歩 today, when everyone thinks Vanity Fair is a magazine.

Police who won't even def end our war dead

Once again we see why the police are losing the support of the British people. This has nothing to do with any individual 行為／法令／行動するs of heroism or sacrifice by police officers.

Yes, there are 勇敢に立ち向かう men and women in the police - but also in the 解雇する／砲火／射撃 旅団s, the coastguard, and の中で ordinary 国民s. And police bravery is often 成し遂げるd in 反抗 of the health-and-safety 支配するs.

The point is that the 法律s and leadership under which the police operate are 敵意を持った to ありふれた sense and to good order. Didn't you just know how the story would end when you read about Julie Lake's 試みる／企てる to defend a desecrated war 記念の from hooded louts, that the police would first ignore her calls for help and then 迫害する her when she 行為／法令／行動するd on her own?

If the men whose 指名するs are 記録，記録的な／記録するd on that monument could rise from their far-off 墓／厳粛／彫る／重大なs and return to the land they left homes and families to defend, would they reckon it had been 価値（がある） it?

? The poor old CofE has 行方不明になるd a trick by not making more of an unrepentant Anthony Blair's 決定／判定勝ち（する） to defect to Rome.

率直に, if the ローマ法王 wants a 拒絶する 政治家，政治屋 who has trampled on every カトリック教徒 doctrine he could find, and some he didn't even realise 存在するd, that's his 事件／事情／状勢.

But 大司教 Rowan Williams could have been excused for a little bit of 穏やかな rejoicing, to be rid of a man whose showy piety, as oily as Saudi Arabia, has for years given the Christian 宗教 a bad 指名する.

This particular 転換 is enough to make a 政治家 turn Protestant.

?I always thought my 幼児 dislike of clowns was a symptom of what modern psychiatrists call 'Oppositional 反抗的な Disorder' - the general stroppiness that I have 苦しむd from since 早期に childhood and for which I would nowadays be 定める／命ずるd mindbending 麻薬s.

How very 安心させるing to find that every 選び出す／独身 child questioned in a 最近の 調査する 自白するd to a distaste for the pictures of clowns used to 元気づける up children's 区s in hospitals. Does this mean the end for the 悪意のある Ronald McDonald, and his の近くに twin, Anthony Blair?

Raise your glass to a green 反乱

I think the green frenzy will become 本気で 人気がない 結局, probably when it is too late.

When every 見解（をとる） is destroyed by hideous, 高くつく／犠牲の大きい and inefficient windmills (proper 力／強力にする 駅／配置するs have to be kept running to kick in when there's no 勝利，勝つd), when we are all 軍隊d to use flickering, hugely 高くつく／犠牲の大きい light bulbs (packed with 汚染物s), we will wish we had rebelled now.

Maybe a 反乱 could come sooner, with the news that 補助金s for 'biofuels' are 説得するing 農業者s to stop growing hops and barley. Hops and barley are becoming much more expensive as a result, so 軍隊ing up the price of beer. Why should we 服従させる／提出する to this?

Just before Christmas, an absent 隣人's 夜盗，押し込み強盗 alarm began to shriek. It continued to do so every half-hour and would have spoiled the entire holiday for perhaps 30 people if by good luck I hadn't 設立する a (lawful) way to switch it off.

A 同僚 had an even worse experience with a car alarm, when of course the police utterly 辞退するd any 肉親，親類d of help in silencing it. It didn't occur to either of us, ever, to 嫌疑者，容疑者／疑う that either the house or the car had been broken into. In fact, it was the last thing we thought of. What are these futile, sleepstealing, raucous 装置s 現実に for? Has a 選び出す／独身 犯罪の ever been caught because of one?
