He made a 星／主役にする of Cillian Murphy long before his Oscar-winning 役割 as J Robert Oppenheimer. Now Steven Knight, creator of Peaky Blinders and its hero Tommy Shelby, is hoping to catapult some more 親族 unknowns to fame with his 最新の 演劇 series This Town, the story of a young 禁止（する）d formed during a period of 緊張 in the West Midlands in 1981.

His cousin Bardon (Ben Rose) joins the 禁止（する）d as guitarist and singer, and Jeannie (Eve Austin) 令状s the music. Bardon’s mother Estella (Downton Abbey 星／主役にする Michelle Dockery) sings with the 禁止（する）d 同様に.
Steven reckons the youngsters, who were pulled together to play the fledgling 禁止（する）d at the heart of the six-part series, could have a 未来 in music 同様に as 事実上の／代理. ‘Their 業績／成果s are amazing,’ he says. ‘We 手配中の，お尋ね者 actors who could 成し遂げる credibly as musicians, but we didn’t 推定する／予想する them to be as good as they are.’

This Town is a 旅行 of hope for the young musicians, 始める，決める against a 背景 of racial and social 緊張. Many of the charact ers were 奮起させるd by people Steven knew in the 80s, 含むing Dante’s 兵士 brother Gregory (Jordan Bolger).?
But the 禁止（する）d itself, which plays ska music, is fictional ? and Steven is （疑いを）晴らす this is not a thinly disguised biopic of one of the 禁止（する）d he grew up with in Birmingham, like The （警官の）巡回区域，受持ち区域 or The Specials.
‘It would be very different if it was a real group,’ he says. ‘It’s not based even remotely on my own experiences. I’ve got brothers who are musicians, but I wasn’t in a 禁止（する）d. My parents would 成し遂げる their own songs in our house and sing in pubs and clubs. This has been 奮起させるd by that experience.’
Some of the biggest 指名するs in 同時代の music have written songs for the series, 含むing Kae Tempest, Celeste and Self Esteem.?
‘We didn’t want it to sound like Now That’s What I Call Music 1981,’ says director Paul Whittington. ‘There’s music people will recognise, such as Food For Thought by UB40, but we asked the 作曲家s to imagine they were in 1981 and come up with 初めの music appropriate to that time.’
The world created by the designers is also 法外なd in the 80s. ‘They sourced a Fairy Liquid 瓶／封じ込める that was around at the time,’ says Michelle Dockery. ‘That took me 支援する to my childhood.’
This Town was filmed at Steven’s Digbeth Studios in Birmingham, and on 住宅 広い地所s in the area. 地元のs are often uncomfortable with filmmakers, but Paul was welcomed with open 武器.?

‘We had a calling card… Peaky Blinders,’ he laughs. ‘Brummies are proud of it. When they heard This Town was a Steven Knight 生産／産物 they couldn’t have been more helpful.’
Of course, Steven is hoping for 類似の success. ‘Wouldn’t that be 広大な／多数の／重要な?’ he says. ‘I certainly have enough ideas. I hope we’re with these characters for a long time.’
