Terry, from Suffolk, features in Really's brand-new programme The 直面する Doctors, which follows 患者s を受けるing life-changing 外科 and cutting-辛勝する／優位 治療 to 再構築する and 修理 their 直面するs.?

NECROTISING FASCIITIS: THE VICIOUS FLESH-EATING BACTERIA

Necrotising fasciitis, more 一般的に known as 'flesh-eating dise ase', is a rare but 極端に vicious bacterial 感染. 'Necrotising' 言及するs to something that 原因（となる）s 団体／死体 tissue to die, and the 感染 can destroy 肌, muscles and fat.

The 病気 develops when the bacteria enters the 団体／死体, often through a minor 削減（する） or 捨てる. As the bacteria multiply, they 解放（する） toxins that kill tissue and 削減（する） off 血 flow to the area.

Because it is so virulent, the bacteria spreads 速く throughout the 団体／死体.

Symptoms 含む small, red lumps or bumps on the 肌, 速く-spreading bruising, sweating, 冷気／寒がらせるs, fever and nausea. 組織／臓器 失敗 and shock are also ありふれた 複雑化s.

There are 500 to 1,500 事例／患者s 報告（する）／憶測d a year, but 20 to 25 パーセント of 犠牲者s die.
