All the elements of a textbook cosy couple’s night in were in place. The pair were curled up together on the sofa, 四肢s entwined with the casual 緩和する of long-称する，呼ぶ／期間／用語 lovers. Dinner was a simple 事件／事情／状勢: steak and vegetables, followed by a tub of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream with two spoons. The ワイン was a 瓶／封じ込める of Zinfandel ? her favourite.

Only the couple’s choice of entertainment hinted at the 驚くべき／特命の／臨時の nature of their 関係.

They were watching a DVD of The 卒業生（する）, the classic tale of an 事件／事情／状勢 between a young man and the older woman who seduces him.

But even Mrs Robinson ? who? was 20 years older than her lover Benjamin in the film ? might have been shocked by the age gap of the pair watching. The 支配するs of this romantic 連絡事務 were a? 60-year-old grandmother and her lover, a baby-直面するd 23-year-old fresh from university.

The woman was Monica Porter, whose sensational memoir about having sex with 15 men, most in their 20s and 30s, attract ed tens of thousands of internet 攻撃する，衝突するs and made 前線 page news as far afield as Turkey and Malaysia when it was featured in The Mail on Sunday a fortnight ago.

The young man was Tom, a handsome 6ft 2in accountant who is now telling his own story of their remarkable nine-month 事件／事情／状勢, which was by far the most serious of all Monica’s assignations.

Like the other twentysomethings with whom she enjoyed 遭遇（する）s, he was attracted to her experience, 信用／信任 and 乗り気 to indulge in ‘no-strings’ sex ? an approach which 誘発するd some critics to brand her ‘sad’ and ‘desperate.’

The Mail on Sunday has agreed to keep the 身元 of Tom a secret to 保護する his family and career, but when it comes to his 関係 with Monica, he is utterly unabashed.

‘We always knew it wasn’t a 従来の 関係, but it was something which made us both very happy at the time,’ he says.

‘The sex was the most 熱烈な I’ve ever had. It was different from sex with girls my own age. She was more experienced and she knew what she 手配中の，お尋ね者. She was comfortable in her own 団体／死体 and more 確信して about 存在 naked than younger girls, and I 設立する that very attractive.

‘But it wasn’t just about sex; we clicked, and it had nothing to do with age. Most of the time we spent together was just like any normal couple. We talked about everything, from 調書をとる／予約するs and films to work and politics. I 設立する her more 利益／興味ing than anyone I’d ever met. She enjoyed educating me, and I enjoyed it too.’

Monica’s memoir, My Year Of Dating 危険に, has thrown a スポットライト on 遭遇（する）s between 50-加える women and twentysomething men.

While they might remain a タブー in today’s society ? as 証拠d by an outpouring of 不賛成 ? it appears they are a growing 傾向 of which Tom is just a small part.

With 円熟した women remaining youthful in 外見 and 態度 for longer than ever before, and many 現れるing from long-称する，呼ぶ／期間／用語 関係s in search of adventure, such ‘May to December’ pairings are growing ますます ありふれた.

For the women, as Monica has pointed out, men in their 20s 申し込む／申し出 excitement, strong young 団体／死体s and no emotional baggage.

For the young men, the idea of 存在 始めるd into adult 楽しみs by an experienced older woman has long been a ありふれた fantasy.

However, it seems that many more are now making it a reality, 補佐官d by the internet. Indeed, a 最近の 調査する showed that 34 per cent of women over 40 have 時代遅れの younger men.

As Tom explains, the 控訴，上告 of a woman of Monica’s age is her 欠如（する） of inhibitions compared to younger women, coupled with the fact that, having often been married and with grown-up children, she is not looking for かかわり合い.

And he is far from alone. The Mail on Sunday has also spoken to two other men in their 早期に 20s who had 簡潔な／要約する 遭遇（する）s with Monica, along with other older women. They both echoed Tom’s 感情s about 円熟した women’s relaxed 態度s and 技術 in bed, and said that when they told their friends about their experiences, they were met with hearty 是認.

示す, a 21-year-old who met Monica through Tinder, says: ‘I’ve been with six or seven older women and I have friends wh o have had 類似の experiences. Older women are much more 利益／興味ing and sophisticated than girls my age, and their experience makes them sexy.’

However, when Tom first met Monica, in April 2013 on a mainstream internet dating 場所／位置, he says he was not 捜し出すing an 事件／事情／状勢 with an older woman. 初めは from the North, he had lived in London for two years after finishing his degree at a 最高の，を越す university, where he’d had his only serious 関係 with a girl his age. He went online to search for love.

‘I was looking for a girlfriend,’ says Tom, a 高度に articulate young man who chooses his words with care. ‘I certainly didn’t have any 期待 that Monica was what I was looking for, although I did know I liked older women.’

He had had three previous 遭遇（する）s with older women, although they were in their 30s rather than 50s. One woman was 12 years older. He hoped she might become a 本物の partner, but it ended when she moved away.

‘I’ve always preferred the company of people older than me ? I don’t know why. Perhaps it’s because I’m an only child and の近くに to my parents; I’m used to talking to older people,’ he says. ‘I find I usually don’t have very much in ありふれた with girls my age. They’re always talking about celebrity gossip which I’m not at all 利益／興味d in. I can’t 与える／捧げる anything. I don’t watch a lot of TV and I’m not 利益／興味d in going out and getting 粉砕するd in nightclubs.’

Tom first spotted Monica on the we bsite when he received an 警報 to say she had looked at his profile.

‘I looked at hers, and saw she was very attractive,’ he says. ‘She looked younger than 54, which was the age she gave on the 場所／位置.

'I wasn’t freaked out by her age ? I was intrigued. Her profile was 井戸／弁護士席-written, and I wondered if she’d checked me out because she liked younger men. I had a moment of over-信用／信任 and sent her a message.’

The pair met at Monica’s 地元の pub later that same day. His first impressions of her were very 肯定的な, but he didn’t anticipa te what would follow.

‘The photo didn’t 嘘（をつく） ? she was very good-looking, and she’d 明確に made an 成果／努力 with her 外見,’ he says. ‘I hadn’t really had time to think about what might happen. It was all やめる impulsive.

'But we 攻撃する，衝突する it off very quickly and the conversation flowed, which surprised me. We talked about our 職業s and she told me she was a writer, which was fascinating. I asked a lot of questions about the articles and 調書をとる／予約するs she’d written and the people she’d met.

'She asked me questions, too, but I was aware I couldn’t give the same sort of answers because I’ve experienced so much いっそう少なく than her.’

After a few drinks ? three pints of beer for him, two glasses of white ワイン for her ? they went 支援する to Monica’s spacious house in a 私的な cul-de-sac in a leafy, 居住の part of London. After a cup of tea, he took her 手渡すs and told her they could do whatever she liked.

They 長，率いるd to the bedroom. Tom says that although the age difference was starkly 明らかな when they were 交流ing stories about their lives, in bed it wasn’t an 問題／発行する.

‘The sex was 広大な／多数の／重要な and I don’t think either of us thought about the age gap at all,’ he says. ‘She had a fantastic 団体／死体 and she was uninhibited compared to girls my age, who are often shy about taking their 着せる／賦与するs off. It was 極端に 熱烈な. We just seemed to be very 両立できる. I stayed the night and we were very affectionate and tende r with one another.

‘It wasn’t just sex without feelings. One of my friends referred to us as ‘f*** buddies’, but that doesn’t 述べる our 関係 because it 暗示するs there was no emotional attachment.

'There was. We cared for one another. We knew we’d never have a 従来の 関係. I knew we’d never live together and that I’d never 会合，会う her family. But it was still a 関係 of sorts.’

Tom, 23, met Monica (pictured at the age of 20) on a dating 場所／位置. They 交流d messages and later met in her 地元の pub. He said: 'We 攻撃する，衝突する it off very quickly and the conversation flowed, which surprised me'

Tom and Monica met on around 15 occasions over a nine-month period. The pattern was always the same: he would take the Tube to her house, where they would talk, watch films, eat healthy dinners of fish or steak cooked by her and retire to bed.

Tom is undoubtedly a more serious, contemplative character than most men his age, but にもかかわらず, it is his 青年 which strikes you upon 会合 him.

‘We talked about everything from politics and history to films and literature,’ he says. ‘She gave me a couple of her 調書をとる／予約するs to read.

'She couldn’t believe I hadn’t read The Catcher In The Rye or The 広大な／多数の／重要な Gatsby. She talked a lot about them, but I must 収容する／認める I still 港／避難所’t read either. I should get on to it.

‘One day 甘い Caroline （機の）カム on the 無線で通信する and Monica was amused that I’d never heard of Neil? Diamond. I’d heard his music before, but he’s not my 時代.

'She 実験（する）d? my cultural knowledge by asking me if I knew who the drummer? in the Beatles was ? I didn’t. I do now, though.

‘We watched TV together a lot, mostly 現在の 事件／事情／状勢s comedy programmes like QI and Have I Got News For You. We often watched Breaking Bad, which we both loved.

'And once we watched The 卒業生（する）. I think it was us making light of our 状況／情勢, although again Monica was surprised I hadn’t seen it before because it’s a classic.

‘I remember joking to her that? she was much nicer than Mrs? Robinson. In the film Ben feels 罠にかける by her and doesn’t really enjoy 存在 with her, so our 状況／情勢 was very different.’

It might sound like a young man far from home and enjoying 存在 pampered by a mother 代用品，人, but Tom 主張するs that wasn’t the 事例／患者.

‘It wasn’t like that at all,’ he says. ‘Mostly it was just like an 普通の／平均（する） couple staying in on a Saturday night.’

The pair would arrange their 連絡事務s whenever they were both 解放する／自由な.

‘We wouldn’t go out of our way to make time for each oth er, but when we did have time to 会合，会う, I’d look 今後 to seeing her for four or five days beforehand,’ he says.

He told few people about Monica and kept their 関係 from his family. ‘My mum is the same age as Monica is now ? 61 ? so I think she would find it very weird,’ he says.

He 株d his secret with a select couple of 信用d friends. ‘They were supportive about it. I think 存在 attracted to older women is very ありふれた. Every guy I know has joked about it at some point ?? but maybe they don’t have the 信用／信任 to 行為／法令／行動する on it like I did.’

The 事件／事情／状勢 （機の）カム to a 結論 when he entered a 特に busy period at work and no longer had time to see Monica. By the time this ended, her former partner had moved 支援する into her house for 財政上の 推論する／理由s, which brought her year of dating to an end.

‘There was no conversation in which we 公式に ended things, so I didn’t really think of it as definitively over until a few weeks ago, when I met someone else,’ Tom says. ‘She’s 26, and I met her online. The difference between my 関係 with her and the one with Monica is that our lives are 類似の.’

He says he kept in touch with Monica with the 時折の text message, but he had no idea she was 令状ing about her experiences until a friend told him about the 抽出する of her 調書をとる／予約する in The Mail on Sunday.

He was, however, わずかに taken aback when he discovered he was not the only young man Monica had been 会合. ‘I thought she probably would be seeing others, but I was surprised by the number,’ he says.

‘I’m pleased that it seems she’s written that what she had with me was more 重要な than what she had with the others, which were mostly one-night stands. 明白に, I’ll have to read the 調書をとる／予約する to find out 正確に／まさに what she’s said.’

That wasn’t the only surprise. It was not until a fortnight ago that he discovered her true age. He had thought she was 54, as she 明言する／公表するd on her dating 場所／位置 profile. ‘With hindsight, the 手がかり（を与える）s were there that she was older ? I knew the age of her two sons ? but I didn’t think about it,’ he says. ‘It doesn’t 事柄 to me.’

Although he understands why their pairing would be considered 議論の的になる, he does not understand the 猛烈な／残忍な 批評 Monica has received. ‘When I remember my time with Monica in the 未来, I’ll think of it as nothing but a 肯定的な experience,’ he says.

‘I don’t get why anybody’s attacking her for it. It made us happy and nobody got 傷つける. I learned a lot,? and I made a friend.’
