There is no 疑問 about it: fur was 支援する with a vengeance at this season’s Fashion Week, both on the 滑走路 and unapologetically smothering the 前線 列／漕ぐ／騒動.

For every big-指名する designer who has banned fur from their collections - Stella McCartney, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and Vivienne Westwood, to 指名する a few - there seem to be ten more trimming their every 衣料品 with it. The designers behind up-and-coming label Cushnie Et Ochs, for example, just 宣言するd it their 'favorite' element of the season, 誇るing they were ‘not ashamed’.

So in an age where ‘倫理的な living’ is 拍手喝采する, veganism is 傾向ing, pet 所有権 in the U.S. has ３倍になるd since the 70s and 削減（する） animal ビデオs 支配する the internet - will proudly draping ourselves with dead foxes in the manner of Kim Kardashian ever go out of style?

I should say up 前線 - since this often comes up - that as someone who abhors fur, I am also a vegan. No, I don't eat meat, and no, I don't wear leather. This wasn't always so. I changed my ways about two years ago, and here's why.?

Kim 設立する herself in hot water with animal 権利s charity PETA (People for the 倫理的な 治療 of Animals) last month, after she dressed her one-year-old daughter North West in what was thought to be a $3,500 水晶 fox fur coat at New York Fashion Week. Was she wrong to do so?

‘Kids are 自然に drawn to animals and 同情的な to their 苦境,’ PETA’s 上級の 副／悪徳行為 大統領，／社長 Lisa Lange told Daily Mail Online, slamming the reality 星／主役にする’s 決定／判定勝ち（する） to 課す her fur fetish on a child.

‘When God gave Kim a big 底（に届く）, he had to take something from the 最高の，を越す,’ mused PETA 創立者 Ingrid Newkirk.

Speaking to Mail on Sunday columnist Liz Jones, anti-fur designer Stella McCartney once said: 'I just don't understand why these beautiful creatures have to die for someone's coat.

'It is both 中世 and 野蛮な, and I think there are plenty of 代案／選択肢s out there. Comfy? Warm? The very idea leaves me 冷淡な.'??

Before we 乗る，着手する on fur’s major 復帰 - after several １０年間s of it 存在 something of a タブー, thanks in large to PETA’s 積極的な （選挙などの）運動をするing - a few important facts.?

More than 75 million animals are killed each year for their pelts. Eighty-five per cent of those are raised on fur factory farms, most of them in 中国 and Russia, where there are no animal 福利事業 規則s at all.

Foxes, mink, grey wolves and raccoons are bred and stacked in wire cages too small for them to turn around, and kept alive - barely - for seven months until fully-grown.

In 中国, more than two million of these animals 毎年 are dogs and cats. You probably didn’t know that.

These creatures are then either anally 電気椅子で死刑にするd (to 保護する the fur from scorching) or skinned, いつかs alive.

It’s too expensive to humanely kill such a high 容積／容量 of animals, and their 苦しむing doesn’t 事柄 anyway. Not to the factory 労働者s, not to the designers who buy it, and not to you either, if you choose to wear it.

Karl Lagerfeld - who was at the 最前部 of the fur-激しい movement at this season’s Fashion Week with his designs for Chanel, Fendi and his namesake label - spoke for many last week when he told The New York Times: ‘For me, as long as people eat meat and wear leather, I don’t get the message.’

The 悪名高い design mogul is so プロの／賛成の-fur this year, he’s 持つ／拘留するing a ‘haute fourrure', or ‘couture fur’ 滑走路 show this July at Fendi’s couture shows in Paris to celebrate the brand’s 50th 周年記念日.

Mr Lagerfeld, who treasures his cat Choupette so much he can hardly 耐える to be parted from her, went on to explain how he reconciles himself with the cruelty 面 of the fur 貿易（する）.

‘I’m very 同情的な,’ he said. ‘I hate the idea of 殺人，大当り animals in a horrible way… It’s horrible, no? So I prefer not to know it.’

He has a point of course.

But the day I 軍隊d myself, as a lifelong animal lover, to watch Earthlings, Joaquin 不死鳥／絶品’s 2005 目印 文書の about the 残虐（行為）s of the meat, leather and fur 産業s, was the day I gave it all up.

I don’t eat animals, I don’t wear them and I don’t use 製品s that have been 実験（する）d on them, because having seen undercover （映画の）フィート数 of what these creatures go through, I can tell you that it’s all 平等に as 野蛮な.

But let’s stay with fur for now. 廃止するing animal fur seems more achievable than 廃止するing meat, and that is a good enough 推論する／理由 to try.

In the late 90s, Stella McCartney 分配するd a graphic, self-narrated PETA ビデオ exposing fur farms の中で her fellow designers at Fashion Week, pleading with them to eschew it.

But if you are on the 盗品故買者 about fur, it need only take 5 minutes and 20 seconds for you to jump off it, whichever 味方する you choose to land.

If you 辞退する to watch it because you don’t care, then that is fair enough. Not everyone cares about animals, and I genuinely take no 問題／発行する with that.

If you 辞退する to watch it because you know it will upset you, then you already know your moral 姿勢 on fur. 寄付する what you have to charity, don’t buy any more, and spare yourself the horror of the （映画の）フィート数.

And if you do watch it, I 保証（人） it will shock you so 深く，強烈に that you will never lust after the precious fur of a sentient 存在 again.

Because nothing, not even your love of fashion, is 価値（がある） the systematic 拷問 you will see; and no creature, not even a lowly raccoon, deserves to 耐える it.
