Does childhood croup lead to 喘息?

I have a 23 month old grandson. Last April he 苦しむd croup and again this week has 苦しむd a bad bronchal attack.

Is this something that he will be 傾向がある to? The hospital asked if anyone in the family 苦しむd from 喘息 which is no, but does this mean he could be 傾向がある to 喘息 in later years?
