Why a facelift could leave Amanda Holden scarred

At 危険: Amanda Holden has keloid 肌

Amanda Holden has 明らかにする／漏らすd that she 苦しむs from a scarring 条件 that 原因（となる）s lumpy, bum py 肌 and can lead to disfigurement.

The Britain's Got Talent 裁判官 says she has keloid 肌, where raised scars form easily and uncontrollably if the 肌 is 削減（する） or 損失d.

Amanda has said she would never 熟視する／熟考する a facelift or any unnecessary 外科, through 恐れる of developing raised 'worm-like' 肌 growths around any incisions.

So what is keloid 肌 and can anything be done about it?

いつかs growing even larger than the 初めの負傷させる, they are raised, shiny and hairless. Often hard and rubbery, new keloids tend to be unsightly red or purple, becoming browner or paler with age.

Unlike normal scars, a keloid can develop after very minor 肌損失 such as an acne 位置／汚点／見つけ出す or a small scratch. And unfortunately, they can last for years. While 'keloid 肌' is not a 医療の称する，呼ぶ／期間／用語, those 傾向がある to keloids might 述べる themselves as having the 条件. Your GP should be able to 診断する a keloid just by looking at your 肌.

They can 影響する／感情 anyone, although those with darker 肌 are more likely to develop them. You are at extra 危険 of keloids if you have had one before or if family members have had them, but it is difficult to 予報する who will develop them or how 厳しい they might be. For example, someone could develop a keloid on one ear 高く弓形に打ち返す after a piercing but not the other.

It is not known why keloids form in some people but not others. Changes in 細胞の signals that 支配（する）／統制する growth and 増殖 are thought to be 伴う／関わるd, but this has yet to be scientifically proven.

Most keloids are symptom-解放する／自由な, but some can be tender, painful, itchy or 原因（となる） a 燃やすing sensation. The main problem is their unsightly 外見. If they are very tight, they can also 限界 the movement of any nearby 共同のs.

治療 is difficult and not always successful. Cutting out a keloid can lead to ano ther forming that may grow even larger. But if caught at an 早期に行う／開催する／段階, 注入するing the steroid triamcinolone into a keloid may help to flatten the scar tissue.

Another 戦略 is to cover it with steroid-impregnated tape, silicone sheets or compression tape to try flattening it. 氷点の with liquid 窒素 may stop 早期に keloids from growing, while レーザー治療 can 少なくなる the redness, although not the size.

Dermatologists might consider cutting out a keloid if they think that steroid 注射s or a 圧力 dressing will 減ずる regrowth.

But 予防 is better than cure. Those at 危険 should 避ける any unnecessary cosmetic 外科 - such as a facelift - 同様に as tattoos or 団体／死体 piercing. Those 苦しむing from acne should 協議する a doctor to 確実にする it is 扱う／治療するd vigorously.
