A 的 to 減ずる the number of babies born by caesarean has been dropped after 専門家s said it was a 'myth' t hat the 操作／手術s were more dangerous than natural births.

One in four babies are born by caesarean in the UK and in some parts of London and the South East as many as one in three.

指導基準s from the World Health Organisation (世界保健機構) have 以前 said the 率 should be no more than one in eight.

The NHS has been under 圧力 to 減ずる the high number of caesareans, which has been せいにするd to an 増加するing number of obese mothers and to women 選ぶing for the procedcure because they are 'too posh to 押し進める.'

Now new 指導基準s from the 世界保健機構 have omitted the one in eight 的, admitting there was 'no empirical 証拠 for an optimum 百分率.'

'For some women it's an unnecessary 介入 and we know that there are health consequences for women and babies,' Cathy Warwick, general 長官 of the RCM, told the Times.

'We should be doing all we can to support women to have a normal birth, where possible.'
