Digestion/irritable bowel syndrome

Spending Sunday mornings wandering around the market, a baguette in one 手渡す and a basket 十分な to bursting in the other, is, to my mind, one of the 広大な/多数の/重要な things about living in Paris.

And while in Paris for the 週末 recently, I was thrilled to つまずく across a herb 立ち往生させる selling aloe vera 工場/植物s. A strange-looking 工場/植物, aloe vera?s cactus-like leaves are filled with a spongy gel that can be 抽出するd by slitting the leaves along their length and then stripping the 低俗雑誌 away from the outer 層s.

Many of my 患者s を煩う irritable bowels at this time of year, their digestive systems having been 悪化させるd by both our rich winter eating habits ? creamy pasta sauces, warming glasses of ワイン and endless chocolates ? and the 強調する/ストレス and 苦悩 原因(となる)d by trying to 支払う/賃金 off those exorbitant credit-card 法案s after Christmas.

This is where aloe vera can come to the 救助(する), 存在 the most 効果的な of all herbs ーに関して/ーの点でs of soothing an irritable bowel (unless your bowel is very loose, when you should use it sparingly).

If your digestive system is really playing up, I?d therefore recommend drinking a small glass of neat aloe vera gel twice a day on an empty stomach. Once your symptoms have 改善するd, it?s time to switch to the いっそう少なく bitter, diluted juice, which you can make by mixing nine parts water with one part aloe vera gel, taking this twice a day until you are symptom-解放する/自由な.

Although some 有機の 蓄える/店s 在庫/株 fresh aloe vera, 代案/選択肢 選択s 利用できる from 化学者/薬剤師s and health-food 蓄える/店s 含む tablets, 要約する/(宇宙ロケットの)カプセルs and teas.

Comfrey leaf is another natural 治療(薬) for irritable bowels, albeit one that 苦しむd a lot of bad 圧力(をかける) several years ago, when it was 報告(する)/憶測d that the comfrey 工場/植物?s alkaloids (subparts) were 有能な of 損失ing the 肝臓.

Firstly, however, you would have to drink 大規模な 量s of comfrey tea (one of the easiest ways of using this 治療(薬)) to 損失 your 肝臓 and, secondly, the lea ves and stalks of the comfrey 工場/植物 have been shown by 研究員s to be perfectly 安全な (it?s the root, which 含む/封じ込めるs the highest 集中 of alkaloids, that should be given a wide 寝台/地位).

You can make comfrey tea by 追加するing a heaped dessertspoon of comfrey leaves to 600ml boiling water.

Lemon barley water

Place 50g 有機の pearl barley or マリファナ barley in a pan and 注ぐ over just enough water to cover it.

Bring th e water slowly to the boil, stirring 絶えず to 妨げる the 穀物s from clumping together and sticking to the pan. After a couple of minutes, 追加する 500ml freshly boiled water and 動かす 井戸/弁護士席 for a few more minutes.

Then 除去する the pan from the heat and 緊張する the liquid into a jug through a very 罰金 sieve.

許す the barley water to 冷静な/正味の before 追加するing the juice of 3 or 4 有機の lemons and a little sugar.
