He told Jake's distraught father: 'I'm going to try something on your son - it will either save his life or end things.'

Carpenter Mr Willett, 30, had no time to hesitate and agreed the doctor should try.

The 外科医 calmly reached into Jake's incubator, made two tiny 削減(する)s in his stomach with a scalpel, and drained the 感染, using a glove in each incision to keep the 負傷させるs open.

Before the life-saving 外科 Jake had been too ill to be transferred from Medway Hospital in Kent to London for specialist 治療.

But the '奇蹟' 手続き saved him and left him 井戸/弁護士席 enough to move to King's College Hospital, London where he underwent a six-hour-long 操作/手術.

Jake, who is now 16 months old, has made a 十分な 回復 and only has to return to hospital for check ups.

And remarkably, his parents still have no idea who the man who saved their baby's life was.

They believe the doctor is a heart 外科医 at London's 広大な/多数の/重要な Ormond Street Hospital, and was visiting heart 患者s in Kent at the time.

'She said we should ask our family to come up to the hospital to say goodbye to Jake and she said she could call the priest for us.

'The nurses were crying too as they had been trying to save Jake. I was so upset I ran out of the room crying and threw up.

'Then Brian (機の)カム and 設立する me and told me what the doctor had said.

'The doctor had pulled Brian aside and said: "I'm going to try something on your son, it will either save his life or end things there and then."

'The doctor said he had never done the 手続き before, but Brian told him to try.

'I did not know what to think when I returned to see Jake with two plastic gloves sticking out of his tummy.

'But I was amazed that it had worked. I am so 感謝する for that doctor for saving Jake's life.

Jake was born two months premature and 重さを計るing just 2lb 4oz after an 緊急 Caesarean in September 2011.

He started 伸び(る)ing 負わせる but at three weeks his stomach started to swell.

Doctors at Medway Hospital told Jake's parents he had a 条件 影響する/感情ing some premature 幼児s called Necrotising Enterocolitis where the small intestine tissue becomes inflamed and dies.

They watched helplessly as his stomach got larger and larger and turned a grey-黒人/ボイコット colour.

On October 20 they were 召喚するd to the hospital at 5am and told by a 顧問 that Jake had got 95 per cent worse in 24 hours.

His small intestine had burst inside him and they were told to call in other 親族s to say goodbye as he was ありそうもない to 生き残る.

Jake's only hope was to be transferred to King's College Hospital in London for an 緊急 操作/手術 but doctors said he was too weak to 生き残る the 旅行.

The good Samaritan doctor was 扱う/治療するing a baby girl with a heart 条件 on the same 区 when he overheard the grief-stricken parents.

At King's College Hospital 外科医s 除去するd 70cm of Jake's intestine.

He stayed in 集中的な care for next seven months and 戦う/戦いd through a 目録 of 複雑化s 含むing 17 輸血s and several resuscitations.

The baby also 契約d MRSA, developed 肝臓 failu re, 大きくするd ventricles on the brain, a small 穴を開ける in his heart, and an 感染 next to his heart, but still pulled through.
