Sports presenter Gabby Logan has a refreshing diet tip for anyone who likes food: eat more potatoes ? and bread.?

In an age when even the (ドイツなどの)首相/(大学の)学長 George Osborne is said to 餓死する himself for two days a week to keep わずかな/ほっそりした, her 姿勢 seems rather 過激な.?

Yet the TV 星/主役にする (人命などを)奪う,主張するs her approach is the 重要な to a 削減する waist, and 断言するs she has never 削減(する) out food groups or gone hungry.

‘You hear about pop 星/主役にするs like Katy Perry or Miley Cyrus cutting out bread because of a gluten intolerance but they have a team of 献身的な cooks,’ says the mother of two.?

‘My worry is that celebrity stories lead to more people deciding to 除外する 重要な food groups from their diets without proper 医療の 監督, when that’s not the healthiest 選択.

‘I take real pride in giving my twins Reuben and Lois and my husband Kenny 井戸/弁護士席-balanced, home-cooked meals where I know 正確に/まさに what we’re eating, rather than choosing whatever 選択 is more 流行の/上流の.’

She has altered her already admirable diet to 含む about 30g a day ? the 量 熟考する/考慮するs say 保護するs against illness.

That sounds a lot when you consider a slice of brown bread 含む/封じ込めるs just 2g, but she didn’t feel she had to make 大規模な changes.

?‘Often it was a 事柄 of eating jacket potatoes with the 肌 on, and making sure I had high-fibre 軽食s in between meals,’ says Gabby.

Although Gabby, 41, is fastidious about her health today, the former 体操教師(選手) and daughter of Welsh international footballer and 経営者/支配人 Terry Yorath has 苦しむd her fair 株 of illness.

Her 冒険的な career ended 予定 to sciatica, and she 苦しむd a 近づく-致命的な haemorrhage in 2005 when she gave birth to her twins, now 老年の nine.

● Peanut butter: 1g (per tbsp)

‘However good you think your diet is, it’s dangerous to feel you’re 罰金 ? I know how 平易な it is to slip into bad eating habits, 特に when you’re incredibly busy,’ she says. Since 増加するing her fibre intake, Gabby has felt the 利益s.

?‘I’d been feeling bloated, 特に after breakfast, and then 苦しむd energy 低迷s later in the day, both of which have gone now,’ she says.

?‘My diet wasn’t problematic, but I knew it wasn’t perfect ? it goes to show how you are what you eat. I’ve noticed my 肌 改善する, too.’

Gabby has one 譲歩 to food fads. Every morning she blends her own ‘green drink’ from a variety of 成分s, 含むing hemp, ginger, kale, sunflower seeds and bee pollen.

‘I might have that with some fruit, or 追加する in half a wholemeal bagel with some peanut butter on, both of which are high in fibre.?

'Then I might have a wholemeal fruit scone for a 中央の-morning 軽食, a handful or two of unsalted almonds 中央の-afternoon, or an oatcak e with some goat’s cheese, and more fruit and water,’ she 追加するs.

Dietician Sian Porter advises anyone who wants to 増加する their fibre intake to do so 徐々に. She says: ‘Perhaps 追加する 5g of fibre a day for a week, and then go up by another 5g each week until you 攻撃する,衝突する the daily 30g 的.?

'You should also 増加する your water intake and the 量 of 演習 you’re doing, even if that’s just a short walk after meals.

‘It’s 重要な dietary change, so if you feel uncomfortable, わずかに 減ずる your fibre intake for a few days before starting again, or see your GP if the problems 固執する, as a reaction to a high-fibre diet can be a 調印する of irritable bowel syndrome.’
