Scientists have long been puzzled as to why people who lead more intellectually 刺激するing lives are somehow 保護するd from mental 拒絶する/低下する.
Some psychologists and neuroscientists have started referring to this as their "cognitive reserve".
One theory is that the brains of people with higher levels of "cognitive reserve" are better able to switch to "計画(する) B" when there are problems.

The idea could explain why it seems people with high IQ levels go downhill 異常に quickly when they do show symptoms of a 病気 such as Alzheimer's.
