Could a 肌 patch end the phobia of the jab?

If you dread the mere thought of a doctor's needle, it's a 開発 you'll find 安心させるing.

For scientists have come up with a 肌 patch which can 注入する 麻薬s into the 団体／死体 without 苦痛.

Instead of a 選び出す／独身 jab, the patch 含む／封じ込めるs dozens of tiny 洗浄器／皮下注射／浣腸器s, which 注入する above the 肌's 苦痛 receptors, cutting out 不快.

専門家s believe the 装置 could be used to 治める the daily insulin dose to those with 糖尿病 or 取って代わる 喘息 inhalers.

In 未来, it could be used to give 患者s different 麻薬s at different times of day.

The patch is based on inkjet printer cartridges from computer 製造業者 Hewlett Packard.

Scientists discovered that the tiny nozzles used inside cartridges to spray 署名／調印する on to a page could be reengineered to 配達する 麻薬 doses.

Hewlett Packard 広報担当者 Charlie Chapman said: "The 装置 目的（とする）s to 供給する a 苦痛-解放する／自由な means of 配達するing 医薬 to the human 団体／死体.

"The patch will radically 減ずる the 不快 felt by 患者s when compared with 伝統的な hypodermics."

Patches already 存在する to 配達する painkillers, or nicotine to smokers trying to kick the habit.

These 化学製品s can pass through the 肌 on their own.

But 麻薬s consistin g of larger or water-soluble 分子s need help to pierce the 肌 ? and it has so far 証明するd impossible to 工夫する patches to 配達する them.

The 1in sq 'smart' patch, which is 社債d to the 肌 by an adhesive, 含む／封じ込めるs 150 micro-needles.

There are also 400 cylindrical 貯蔵所s filled with the 麻薬s 要求するd by the 患者.

A microchip 規制するs the 量 of 薬／医学 解放（する）d from the 貯蔵所s into the needles.

Mr Chapman said: "These microneedles can selectively 配達する 麻薬s, one 貯蔵所 at a time, into the 肌."

In the 未来, the patch could be customised for individuals, its developers believe. Sensors could 配達する insulin to a 糖尿病 患者 when high glucose levels are （悪事，秘密などを）発見するd.

And those on several 麻薬s wouldn't have to remember which 麻薬s to take when - the microchip will do it for them. The patches can last for days or weeks.

製造（する）d by the Irish 医療の 装置 provider Crospon, they could be 利用できる by 2010.
