A 粛清する on pesticides

The Co-op is to 禁止（する） more than 20 farm pesticides from its produce まっただ中に rising 関心s about the 衝撃 of 化学製品 residues on human health and the countryside.

The proscribed 実体s 含む Lindane, which has been linked to 癌 and birth defects, and organophosphates from the same 化学製品 family as 神経 gas スパイ／執行官s.

Not only is the Co-op a major fruit and vegetable retailer but it is also Britain's biggest 農業者.

The organisation threw 負かす／撃墜する a challenge to 農業者s, the agrochemical 産業, other retailers and the 政府 to begin a 過激な re-think of food 生産／産物 techniques.

The Co-op has called on the 政府 to 適用する the 'pre-cautionary 原則' to new and exisiting pesticides - meaning a 禁止（する） on any 化学製品 where there is 疑問 about its safety, even if the 負わせる of 科学の 証拠 is insufficient to 証明する this conclusively.

The 政府's 現在の line - 雇うd with 悲惨な results during the BSE 危機 - 作品 on the basis the public is not at 危険 when there is 'no 証拠' of 害（を与える）.

The Co-op has drawn up an 活動／戦闘 計画（する）, in co-操作／手術 with 支える, a farming and food 圧力団体.

The 活動／戦闘 計画（する） is the result of a Co-op 熟考する／考慮する into 'Food 罪，犯罪s'. The 熟考する／考慮する has identified what the company calls 致命的な 欠陥s in the 是認, 規則 and policing of pesticides.

化学製品s can go on sale without 製造業者s having to 証明する a 事例／患者 of need, or that their 製品 is better or safer than what is already 利用できる.

The Co-op argues t he 過程 for 除去するing older more harmful 化学製品s is cumbersome. And it complains there is no 急速な／放蕩な-跡をつける system for 潜在的に safer 製品s.

Almost three-４半期/4分の1s - 72 per cent - of those questioned said they were worried about pesticide residues in their food.

Almost nine out of ten - 89 per cent - see 有機の farming as better for the 環境, while 74 per cent consider 有機の food to be safer for their family.

The Co-op is supporting moves in 議会 to 支援する 従来の 農業者s who want to make a change to 有機の.

The 有機の Food & Farming 的s 法案, drawn up by backbench MPs, argues for 30 per cent of 生産／産物 and 20 per cent of 消費 to be 有機の by 2010.
