Instead, like too many others, I was 脅すd off it by a 熟考する／考慮する published in 1998 that linked it to autism.

It’s a 決定／判定勝ち（する） I now 悔いる. For, やめる apart from leaving them unprotected for too long, with my first two unvaccinated, it meant I 潜在的に exposed the baby I was hoping to conceive to the 危険 of rubella.

The 複雑化s of this viral 感染 are grim, and 含む deafness and heart problems for the baby, and miscarriage.

Not that I considered that at the time, in my fright.

The now-悪名高い ― and fraudulent ― 熟考する／考慮する, published in 1998 in the world-renowned Lancet 定期刊行物, was led by gastroenterologist Andrew Wakefield. He’d looked at 12 children with autism, identifying eight whose parents said their children’s behavioural symptoms had developed within two weeks of receiving the MMR jab.

At a 圧力（をかける） 会議／協議会 after 出版（物）, Dr Wakefield (as he was ― he’s since been struck off from the UK 医療の 登録（する）) called for the MMR ワクチン to be 一時停止するd 未解決の more 研究.

The MMR story seemed to 支配する the headlines for weeks on end ― though かもしれない this was just how it felt to anxious parents.

But in any event, like scalded cats, my friends and I talked about it and panicked ― a few became anti-vaxxers and remain so. They’ve since been joined by countless thousands どこかよそで, 主要な to 落ちるing 率s of ワクチン接種.

Others like me, who had no qualms about our children’s previous 決まりきった仕事 ワクチン接種s (against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, polio and the bacterial 感染 Hib), instead became ‘選び出す／独身-vaxxers’, getting the measles, mumps and rubella jabs done 分かれて.

Wakefield himself 示唆するd doing this, with the jabs a year apart.

So that’s why my memories of my sons’ pre-school years ― and beyond ― are 支配するd by endless car 旅行s to source the 選び出す／独身 ワクチンs.

I vividly remember in the 早期に days going to one 一時的な clinic, 始める，決める up above a shop in a 郊外 of London, which felt very 飛行機で行く-by-night. I am not sure it was around even a few weeks later.

While I then 設立する other ― 合法的 ― clinics, there were problems with 供給（する）, 特に of the mumps 選び出す／独身 jab. My middle son was nine years old when he finally had it.

It was a fraught 商売／仕事, and expensive ― not much shy of £100 per jab. (This put me in the 特権d 少数，小数派 able to afford the 選択 of 選び出す／独身 jabs: who’s to say if others were driven to become anti-vaxxers by 軍隊 of 経済的な circumstance?)

As I drove across the country and wrote out yet another cheque, it was with a sense of 怒り／怒る against the 製造業者s and the 政府 who would no longer 許す the 選び出す／独身 ワクチンs to be 供給するd on the NHS.

I 手配中の，お尋ね者 to do the best by my children ― to vaccinate them ― but by making the ３倍になる MMR jab the only 選択, it felt like the 政府 was 軍隊ing me to do something to my children that I thought would do them 害（を与える）.

And then, against this background, in 2001 there was the major 嵐／襲撃する over whether the then 総理大臣, Tony Blair, had given his toddler son, Leo, the ３倍になる jab. Mr Blair 辞退するd to say, his 補佐官s 宣言するing that 明らかにする／漏らすing family 詳細（に述べる）s would cross a red line.

Seven years later, Cherie wrote in her autobiography that Leo had in fact had the ３倍になる ワクチン, admitting: ‘It’s fair to say I was in two minds. [But] I did get Leo vaccinated.’

To parents like me, the 総理大臣’s silence had been tacit 確定／確認 that the MMR was ‘problematic’ and that we could ignore 公式の／役人 advice to use it on our children. Tony, it seemed until we learned the truth, had probably either 避けるd the ３倍になる jab or had gone to フラン to get Leo the 選び出す／独身 jabs to 保護する him ― which was all we 手配中の，お尋ね者 for our children, too.

As a mother-to-be I’d carefully 避けるd anything that might even ばく然と 影響する／感情 my baby’s health ― everything I 消費するd was 有機の, nothing ‘人工的な’; I shunned paracetamol, and even when I developed 肺炎 during my first pregnancy, I 本気で thought twice about taking the 抗生物質s. I had no 苦痛 救済 during 労働.

I was ‘hard-核心 wholesome’ ― and that continued after my babies were born. All 有機の food, of course (支援する then, that was a lot more difficult to do: I even 説得するd a Californian friend to bring boxes of 有機の teething rusks every time she （機の）カム to the UK, as I couldn’t source them here).

While I didn’t have a problem with ワクチン接種s per se, the MMR 熟考する／考慮する 攻撃する，衝突する me and others at our most 攻撃を受けやすい: the 願望（する） to 保護する our babies.

It was hard to make the 事例／患者 for 任意に doing 害（を与える） to your child by 危険ing ‘giving’ them autism (a lifelong 条件) to 避ける a minor childhood illness (just a passing 悲惨, we thought, blas? thanks to the success of modern 薬／医学 - and ワクチンs).?

By the time Wakefield’s 熟考する／考慮する was 存在 discredited (it was 撤回するd by the Lancet in 2010), I’d moved into health journalism, and the 証拠 against the autism link was impossible to ignore.

There are at least ten large 熟考する／考慮するs ― and several smaller ones ― that show the ワクチン does not raise the 危険 of autism.

The most 最近の paper, published in March, 伴う／関わるd more than 650,000 children up to about the age of eight, and was led by 研究員s in Denmark and Californi a’s Stanford University.

It 確認するd previous findings that there is no link between the MMR ワクチン and autism ― and that this was even the 事例／患者 with children who might be at higher 危険 of the disorder (perhaps because they have older parents or a sibling with the 条件).

Although my sons had 完全にするd their 十分な course of 選び出す／独身 jabs, I thought ‘just in 事例／患者’, and made sure that they had booster ３倍になる jabs under the NHS’s ‘catch-up programme’, during 第２位 school.

This, to me, seems a way 今後: don’t make parents feel 有罪の or stupid about not giving their child MMR.

申し込む／申し出 them a catch-up. And make it easier to get 任命s in the evenings and at 週末s ― or even 申し込む／申し出 the 選択 of healthcare professionals going into the home to give the ワクチン. 明確に, there also needs to be an education programme to 取り組む social-マスコミ misinformation. But making MMR 義務的な would be a mistake.

I think 支援する to how I felt when the MMR story broke, and I 恐れる that 義務的な ワクチン接種 will only 土台を崩す 信用 in the 医療の profession の中で those who are already 懐疑的な, while doing nothing to 変える diehard anti-vaxxers.

As I 令状, I think about a 親族 of 地雷, now in his 30s, who caught meningitis as an 幼児 and was left deaf, and how different his life has been as a result.

It was probably meningitis B that was to 非難する ― 支援する then, it was not part of the 基準 幼児 ワクチン接種 schedule. It is now, in the UK.

I’m no Pollyanna about ワクチンs ― like any 医療の 治療, they can いつかs 原因（となる） 味方する-影響s ― and 製薬の companies certainly make money from them.

But I know that my family and I have 利益d from them ― as have 攻撃を受けやすい people, 含むing 妊娠している women . For these 推論する／理由s, I 堅固に believe the MMR is 価値（がある） having.?
