On the rise: Narendra Modi, Chief Minister of Gujarat

On the rise: Narendra Modi, 長,指導者 大臣 of Gujarat

Gujarat 長,指導者 大臣 Narendra Modi is certainly o n a roll. A day after he met Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) supremo Mohan Bhagwat in Nagpur and 報道によれば got his blessings to "play a bigger 役割" in the BJP, Modi's 国家の ambitions received another 上げる - this time from the 部隊d Kingdom.

The British high commissioner to India, Sir James Bevan, met the Gujarat 長,指導者 大臣 on Monday, ending his 10年間-long 'ボイコット(する)' in the wake of the 2002 暴動s. The fact that the UK has chosen to 始める the re-約束/交戦 with the Modi 政府 at a time when the 議会 選挙 is only two months away signals that the country 推定する/予想するs him to return to 力/強力にする in Gujarat.

Another 称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語 in the 明言する/公表する would give a 重要な 押し進める to Modi's political career as it would 固く結び付ける his (人命などを)奪う,主張する as the BJP's strongest prime 大臣の 候補者. It's perhaps these factors - coupled with Guajarat's strong 可能性のある as a 貿易(する) and 商売/仕事 目的地 - that have made the UK and the US 軟化する their stand に向かって Modi, who became a persona 非,不,無 grata for these countries after the 暴動s.

Bevan drove to the 明言する/公表する (国際的組織の)事務局 at about 11am to 会合,会う the Gujarat 長,指導者 大臣. During the 50-minute 会合, the two discussed a 範囲 of 問題/発行するs and talked about 調査するing the 適切な時期s for closer 協調 in 貿易(する) and 商業.

Sources in the 長,指導者 大臣's office said the 会合 was cordial, with both parties keen on taking the 約束/交戦 その上の.

"Had a 広大な/多数の/重要な 会合... to 強化する Guj-UK 関係 in 経済的な and social 部門s," Modi later 地位,任命するd on twitter. Interacting with the マスコミ after the 会合, Sir Bevan 譲歩するd that the UK was 捜し出すing to re-engage with the Modi 政府 for its own 経済的な 利益/興味.

A lot has changed since 2002 as Gujarat had 現れるd as one of the most developed 明言する/公表するs in India. While Britain is looking 今後 to 深くするing its 約束/交戦 with India, Gujarat can't be ignored, he said.

Sir Bevan 追加するd that the UK would also 参加する in the Vibrant Gujarat 2013 首脳会議, which is scheduled for 早期に next year. He pointed out that there was a 広大な/多数の/重要な 範囲 for 協調 between Gujarat and Britain in areas such as 組織/基盤/下部構造, energy, 都市の planning and hi-tech 製造業の.

The British (外交)使節/代表's visit has attracted attention as it is 広範囲にわたって 存在 見解(をとる)d as Britain's 裏書,是認 for Modi, which can help end his 'pariah' status across countries in the European Union.

Sir Bevan said the UK had a taken a 政策 決定/判定勝ち(する) in this regard on its own and each country in the EU would make its own 決定/判定勝ち(する). He also sought to 軽視する his 会合 as the British 政府's 裏書,是認 of Modi.

"This is 約束/交戦 with Gujarat and Gujarat as a whole and not an 約束/交戦 with any individual," Sir Bevan said. "I don't agree with your perception that we are rehabilitating Mr Modi. This 約束/交戦 is not about 裏書,是認. If we need to engage with some 明言する/公表する, we need to engage with the 長,指導者 大臣 of (that) 明言する/公表する and Mr Modi is the 民主的に elected leader of Gujarat," he 追加するd.

割引ing the 可能性 of this perceived 是認 of Modi having any favourable 選挙(人)の 衝撃, Sir Bevan said Britain did not have any 意向 to 干渉する with the 選挙(人)の 過程 in the 明言する/公表する and that the Gujarati 投票者s were ありそうもない to get swayed by his visit in any fashion.

The (外交)使節/代表 pointed out that with the judicial 過程 to bring the 殺し屋s of 2002 to 司法(官) having taken off, Britain had decided to 高める 関係 with Gujarat. But he made it (疑いを)晴らす that Britain would continue to 捜し出す 司法(官) for its three 国家のs killed in the 2002 暴動s.

Sir Bevan also met 知事 Kamala Beniwal and Gujarat 議会 長,指導者 Arjun Modvadia during his visit. The 議会, which is fighting a pitched 戦う/戦い to dislodge Modi from 力/強力にする in the 明言する/公表する, would have certainly not been pleased with the Modi-Bevan 会合, but sought to downplay it.

"The UK is a 君主 country. Its high commissioner and 公式の/役人s can 会合,会う anybody. Modi is a 憲法の 当局 as any other 長,指導者 大臣," party spokesperson Sandeep Dikshit said.

The BJP, for its part, said it was not the end of a 10-year international 孤立/分離 of the leader, as was 存在 事業/計画(する)d, because there was no 孤立/分離 in the first place.
