The night may have been chilly but at this week’s 首相 for What’s Love Got To Do With It?, there was one person who got the world hot under the collar.

The film’s 星／主役にする, Lily James, left mouths agape and little to the imagination in her sheer, corseted, lime-green Miu Miu dress and 非常に高い silver heels.

It was certainly a 出発 from the blushing blonde who tripped 負かす／撃墜する the red carpet in a 一連の fairy-tale frocks after playing Cinderella eight years ago.

Yet this week’s busty 陳列する，発揮する shouldn’t come as so much of a surprise. For the truth is that 33-year-old Lily has been 炎ing a 追跡する on the red carpet with her powerful, sexy new look for the past year.

Look 支援する at every dress she has chosen since January 2022 and you’ll notice a 主題: bold, 団体／死体-反対／詐欺 dresses that show the world she is no wilting wallflower.

So what’s behind her style sea-change? After all, she’s 誇るd the same stylist, celebrity favourite Rebecca Corbin-Murray, since 2015.

井戸／弁護士席, her metamorphosis from a young twentysomething who chose 広範囲にわたる gowns from the likes of Oscar De La Renta and Elie Saab to today’s 審査する サイレン／魅惑的な started around the time she played Baywatch bombshell Pamela Anderson in the TV series Pam & Tommy.

For the 首相 on January 24 last year, Lily drew much attention in a silver Atelier Versace 小型の dress with a 削減（する）-out bodice and bra-like ひもで縛るs, which showed off the curves she had worked on so hard with a personal trainer to get into beach-babe 形態／調整.

Onlookers assumed Lily was 簡単に borrowing Pammy’s vibe to plug the show. Yet as the months went on, the 蒸し暑い, 人物／姿／数字-高めるing outfits continued.

In March, Lily 選ぶd for a 小型の dress and thigh-high boots by Roberto Cavalli for Vogue and Tiffany’s fashion and film party.

At the Oscars later that month, she chose a baby-pink lace Versace gown with a thigh-high 分裂（する） that 明らかにする／漏らすd her fabulous 脚s and left the cape-like skirt 追跡するing in her wake.

She went for thigh-flashing Versace again at May’s Met 祝祭 in New York, this time donning a sheer, jewel-encrusted fabric that gave tantalising glimpses of the flesh underneath.

This felt like a new Lily James ― one who was becoming more 確信して in owning her sexuality.

You can, of course, understand why Lily might want to 勃発する of the mould the world had cast for her.

With her 削減（する）-glass British accent, delicate features and a filmography that 含むs adaptations of some of literature’s classic tales (Rebecca, The 追跡 Of Love, Cinderella) i t was always tempting to lump Lily into that most dreadful of cliches, the English Rose. (Truth be told, I don’t think there’s a 選び出す／独身 British actress who has ever made it in the hard-knock world of Hollywood who could be seen as a ‘delicate flower.’)

But for years, Lily’s choice of classic gowns on the red carpet, and floaty midi-dresses off it, only その上の 固く結び付けるd that 評判. Look 支援する at pictures of her from her rise to fame as Lady Rose in Downton Abbey in 2013 up until the pandemic put a stop to awards 儀式s and 首相s in 2020, and you’ll find her resplendent in 巨大（な） 屈服するs (Valentino); classic polka-dots (Petar Petrov) and lots and lots of floral (Emilia Wickstead, Preen, Alexander McQueen and Saloni).

And yet, I have always thought her 早期に style at 半端物s with the Lily James I have seen and met.

I 株d a （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する with her in December 2019 at the British Fashion Awards. She was fresh from her 分裂（する） with ex-Doctor Who 星／主役にする Matt Smith and was wearing a white gown by Valentino.

Lily was no delicate wallflower that evening; she was funny, flirty ― and one of the sexiest actresses I have ever met.

It was as though the room bent に向かって her as she walked. ELLE magazine, of which I was editor, almost 発射 her for its cover a few months later (as usually happens with these things, the タイミング didn’t やめる work out) and unlike most Hollywood actresses, Lily was very willing to 実験 with her look.

You could feel it, even then, that the real Lily James was itching to step out of her pre-定める／命ずるd sartorial 慰安 zone.

I think you have only to look at the men Lily has 時代遅れの ― fellow 星／主役にする Matt Smith; an 申し立てられた／疑わしい dalliance with her married 追跡 Of Love co-星／主役にする Dominic West and her 最近の ex-partner, American 激しく揺する musician Michael Shuman ― to know that this is a woman who is not 用意が出来ている to be any man’s simpering arm candy.

Which makes me wonder whether there’s anything surprising about this ‘new’ look at all.

In fact, I’d put money on the fact this 挑発的な new style is far more 代表者／国会議員 of the woman Lily really is . . .

団体／死体 確信して, wonderfully impish, oozing sex 控訴，上告 ― and finding it ever so amusing that we’re only just starting to realise that th is English rose has thorns.
