From snow ヒョウ cubs to miniature penguins: Bronx Zoo 明らかにする／漏らすs its new arrivals in 2017

A snow ヒョウ cub born at the Bronx Zoo has made its public debut in October. The cub is the second 世代 offspring of Leo, the snow ヒョウ which became famous when he was 救助（する）d as a young 孤児d cub after 存在 設立する in the high mountains of northern Pakistan in 2005. The young 女性（の） was born this summer to mother, K2, and father, Naltar, who was sired by Leo in 2013.

The Bronx Zoo a successful 産む／飼育するing program for geladas (Theropithecus gelada) and this baby was born in August. The Bronx Zoo is the only zoo in the U.S. 産む／飼育するing geladas and is one of only two that 展示（する） the 種類. The family group can be 観察するd at the zoo's 粗野な人間 Reserve.

A 植民地 of little penguins (Eudyptula minor), also known as little blue penguins or フェリー（で運ぶ） penguins, （機の）カム to the Bronx from the Taronga Zoo in Australia in 2015. As their 指名する 示唆するs, they are the smallest of the 17 penguin 種類. The Bronx Zoo is home to two 種類 of these aquatic birds - little penguins and Magellanic penguins (Spheniscus magellanicus)

A juvenile American bison (Bison bison) runs through the Bronx Zoo?s expansive Bison 範囲. This is one of six bison calves born at the Bronx Zoo in April and May 2017. The calves were born to a herd of seven 女性（の）s and one male that arrived at the zoo in 2016 from Ft. つつく／ペック, Montana as an historic gift from the Assiniboine and Sioux tribes. These bison are from the Yellowstone 国家の Park bloodline, and are の中で the few pure bison remaining.

A sub-adult Malayan tiger (Panthera tigris jacksoni) is one of the two cubs born and 手渡す-後部d at the Bronx Zoo in 2016. The cubs were pulled and cared for by Bronx Zoo staff because their mother failed to 供給する appropriate maternal care. Now かなり larger, both young cubs are 栄えるing. A new habitat for slender-horned gazelles (Gazella leptoceros) was 追加するd to the Bronx Zoo's African Plains in the summer of 2017. In 2012, the 種類 became the first amphibian to be 再提出するd to its native habitat after 存在 宣言するd extinct in the wild. In spring 2017, the Bronx Zoo 追加するd eight Indian gharials (Gavialis gangeticus) to the river habitat in JungleWorld. This is the first time the Bronx Zoo has 展示（する）d the 種類 since 2000. Gharial are a slender-snouted crocodilian native to northern Indian subcontinent. Eighty パーセント of the remaining world 全住民 live in the Chambal River in India - the last 要塞／本拠地 for the 種類.

An electric blue gecko (Lygodactylus williamsi) 粘着するs to a 支店 in its habitat in the Bronx Zoo. Also known as turquoise dwarf gecko and Williams' dwarf gecko, the 種類 has several ありふれた 指名するs. The Bronx Zoo Herpetology Department is 産む／飼育するing this 批判的に 危うくするd 種類 in the Reptile House where adults, juveniles and even eggs can be seen.
