Dark Lord to (犯罪の)一味 changes: Svengali Booth 計画(する)s to やめる when Haye hangs up his gloves

By Jeff Powell

The Dark Lord of the (犯罪の)一味 is coming to the end of his Machiavellian 統治する.

Adam Booth, the trainer coveted by David Haye as a practitioner of ボクシング's 黒人/ボイコット arts, will follow Britain's WBA heavyweight 支持する/優勝者 into 退職 as quickly as possible.

Haye remains 毅然とした that he will hang up the gloves before his 31st birthday on October 13, 勝利,勝つ or lose his world 肩書を与える 統一 fight against Wladimir Klitschko on Friday night.

His Svengali is '活発に encouraging' him to stick to a 決定/判定勝ち(する) they reached together nine years ago - as they ate Kentucky Fried Chicken in the 影をつくる/尾行する of London's Marble Arch - 'for both our sakes'.

Booth explains: 'From that day in 2002 it has been our ambition for David to 達成する as much success as he can and get out with as little brain 損失 as possible, then for me to step away from the 強調する/ストレス of it all.

'It was na?ve at the time but, luckily, thanks to our perception and judgment and taking what I regard as ballsy 決定/判定勝ち(する)s along the way, that's how it's going to be.'

Booth 再確認するd that かかわり合い to やめる when he caught sight of himself in a mirror: 'I saw somebody very different from the person I was only a couple of years ago.'

The man whose unorthodox training methods have confounded the traditionalists of the prize (犯罪の)一味 has driven Haye ever 上向きs 経由で the 統一するd cruiserweight 肩書を与える to this, the biggest heavyweight fight of the new century.

Booth 作品 in the dead of night with his エリート boxers, すなわち Haye and George Groves, in a shuttered 体育館 built into a dank 鉄道 arch above which trains from Vauxhall rumble along a Thames 堤防.

He eschews the usual ritual of long 夜明け runs in favour of developing the 速度(を上げる) which is his prize heavyweight's prime 武器, 同様に as the deceptive movement which enabled Haye to ひったくる his belt from the gigantic Nikolai Valuev and Groves to upset Olympic 支持する/優勝者 James DeGale.

'No 部外者 really knows what we do or how we go about it because nobody is ever 許すd in to watch me do the real training,' says Booth.

Nor can his beliefs be challenged because he 避けるs discussion: 'It is easier to change the minds of a thousand men by our results than of one man who drags you into the to-and-fro of argument. So I just do it how I think it should be done.'

The 社債 between them is 深い and impenetrable, with Haye 説: 'We call him the Dark Lord because there is so much 影をつくる/尾行する and 不明瞭 around our (軍の)野営地,陣営.'

My guy: Booth is also the trainer of British and Commonwealth super middleweight champion George Groves

Booth also 行為/法令/行動するs as the 経営者/支配人 and promoter, 誘発するing the purists to question whether that might be detrimental to his work as the trainer, but he says: 'I need to be 伴う/関わるd in everything. To get the best out of someone as a coach you have to know everything about the individual. That all 料金d into the 30 seconds or so you have with him when he comes 支援する to the corner between 一連の会議、交渉/完成するs. It's terribly 激しい but I go through it because I care.'

And that is where the psychological 緊張する can become intolerable. Booth says: 'It's an obsession and that's why I can't carry on much longer. I don't know what it's like to be in a corner at a fight and not be 涙/ほころびing myself apart emotionally. It's horrible. We do laugh and joke but when I get 支援する to the hotel room I 嘘(をつく) awake in bed, sweating. I'm running the fight and every possible eventuality through my mind. It's exhausting.

'I now have only two aspirations: For David to 勝利,勝つ this fight against Wladimir and then to help George go as far as he can. Then I'm done. It wouldn't be fair of me to dine out on our success by telling other young boxers that I can do for them what I've done for David. I can't go through all this again.

'I will just about be able to see George on his way because he has a 乾燥した,日照りの wit and is fun to be around but I couldn't do it dispassionately.'

But won't he 行方不明になる the excitement of mega-fights like this, with 55,000 観客s crammed into a football ground, and the challenge they entail?

Head to head: Klitschko and Haye meet in their long-awaited clash in Hamburg on Saturday night

長,率いる to 長,率いる: Klitschko and Haye 会合,会う in their long-を待つd 衝突/不一致 in Hamburg on Saturday night

'No. I love the gym, working on the pads and developing different styles but that is only a 百分率 of the game. I will just remember the 治める/統治するing bodies, the 許可/制裁ing 団体/死体s, the promoters and 経営者/支配人s with whom you have to work. I hate it, 特に the lawyers, who 廃虚 sport in my opinion.'

Booth's disaffection with those elements of the game has been 常習的な by the two years of 交渉s with Team Klitschko.

'They bang on about us not 存在 respectful but the way they go about their 商売/仕事 with 対抗者s and the 契約s they draw up is anything but respectful.

'Wladimir and the people around him are passive-積極的な いじめ(る)s. It takes more than a 控訴 and tie and 井戸/弁護士席-coiffed hair to make a gentleman. They get away with as much greed and いじめ(る)ing as they can.'

Booth 免除されたs Klitschko's Hall of Fame trainer Emanuel Steward from that element of 批評, even though Team Haye have been baiting the 退役軍人 American this week.

Booth says: 'I have 広大な/多数の/重要な 尊敬(する)・点 for Manny. He's been 伴う/関わるd in the 広大な/多数の/重要な fights 負かす/撃墜する the years which I grew up watching. He trained Tommy Hearns and it was his fight with Sugar Ray Leo nard which made me 落ちる in love with ボクシング.

'I will never 達成する Manny's 一貫した success, partly because ボクシング was so much better then. But we have 動揺させるd him a bit in the build-up, which is good for us.'

Plenty to ponder: Booth is preparing for the biggest fight of his - and Haye's - life

Plenty to ponder: Booth is 準備するing for the biggest fight of his - and Haye's - life

The 侮辱s and stunts used to taunt the Klitschko (軍の)野営地,陣営 have 刺激するd 怒り/怒る and 批評 but Booth says: 'All's fair in love and war. It's not a contest between the trainers so if everyone thinks I'm c**p after this fight I won't care as long as David has won. But there is a 戦う/戦い of 策略 and that's why they bring Manny over for the last three or four weeks before a big fight.'

A 重要な part of Booth's 戦略 is to goad Klitschko out of his long-範囲, 防御の 方式 into a slugfest which would give his man more chance of using his 速度(を上げる) to land his knock-out Hayemaker.

Whether the younger of the two 巨大(な) Ukrainian brothers who 持つ/拘留する the 残り/休憩(する) of the heavyweight 肩書を与えるs will 落ちる for it remains open to question until the first bell (犯罪の)一味s. Wladimir is, after all, a university 卒業生(する) and doctor of sports science.

The other question yet to be answered is whether big brother Vitali, the linear WBC 支持する/優勝者, will change his 計画(する)s to 捜し出す 復讐 against Haye if Wladimir loses in the Imtech 円形競技場 here.

'I don't believe the Klitschkos will let us go if David (警官の)巡回区域,受持ち区域s him,' says Booth. 'But I don't want to say any more about that before this fight is won.'

But he does know what he will do as soon as he gets out of the hardest game: 'Work on 改善するing my backhand at tennis.'

井戸/弁護士席, this is also 決勝戦 週末 at Wimbledon… and Andy Murray is one of David Haye's greatest 支持者s.
