Shane Watson has been known to get the shivers in England but he will have to be at his bravest today as Australia 戦う/戦い to 避ける an 前例のない whitewash on the ground where they have twice 手渡すd over the Ashes in the last five years.

Watson's admission that he was 脅すd of the ghost of Lumley 城 in Durham 供給するd light 救済 ahead of the famous 2005 Ashes and led to the belief that perhaps Australia were not やめる as big and bad after all.

Even so, it was Australia who 勝つ/広く一帯に広がるd 5-0 in the Ashes return in 2006-07 and Watson will be at the 最前部 of their 試みる/企てる now to stop England winning in 50-over cricket by the same emphatic 利ざや.

Exorcising the ghost: Shane Watson is keen for Australia to 避ける another 敗北・負かす at The Oval

The Brit Oval has been the unhappiest of 最近の 追跡(する)ing grounds for the Aussies but it is there where they must try to stop an England juggernaut that is 非難する に向かって a barely believable 5-0 NatWest one-day series 勝利.

PROBABLE LINE-UPS

England: Strauss (capt), Kieswetter (wkt), Pietersen, Collingwood, Morg an, Yardy,
Wright, Bresnan, Swann, 幅の広い, Anderson.

Australia: Watson, 苦痛 (wkt), Ponting (capt), Clarke, White, Hussey, Smith, Hopes, Harris, Bollinger, Tait.

Umpires: R Kettleborough, A Dar.

マイク Atherton led England to a 3-0 one-day success over Australia in 1997 but as it was すぐに followed by another Ashes 敗北・負かす it soon became one of the many 誤った 夜明けs that have beset England's one-day cricket in particular since they almost won the World Cup in 1992.

This time, with England 改善するing markedly in all forms of the game, appears to be different and not least because they now have the chance to 勝利,勝つ five 連続する games against Australia today and at Lord's on Saturday.

Even when they 苦しむd an old-style 崩壊(する) at Old Trafford on Sunday England had enough belief to stagger over the winning line to earn a series-winning 3-0 lead and they are moving 滑らかに に向かって their defence of the Ashes and a viable challenge at last for a 50-over World Cup 肩書を与える 早期に next year.

Up for it: England's Michael Yardy

Up for it: England's Michael Yardy

'We 港/避難所't been up to par throughout this series,' 認める Watson, who has got Australia off to good starts in this series without going on to a match-winning 出資/貢献.

'After having a little bit of a break we 港/避難所't been able to get up to 速度(を上げる) as quick as we would like.

'England have been playing some good cricket which has made it more difficult but we definitely don't want a whitewash.

'We want to keep 改善するing and be able to 地位,任命する some runs that as a group we can bowl to.

'We have been caught a bit short so far to be honest.'

Not least by a man who only started bowling 定期的に in that same 2005 summer.

マイク Yardy has been England's most economical bowler so far in this series and has gone a long way に向かって making the left-arm spinning all-rounder's slot his own ahead of the World Cup.

?

The Sussex captain is just as 経済的な with his words as his bowling but the 目的(とする) for England in the next two games is (疑いを)晴らす.

'The main 焦点(を合わせる) is 4-0,' said Yardy.

'You can't 勝利,勝つ two games in a day so we won't worry about 5-0 until we've got 4-0. But it would be a 大規模な 業績/成就 to whitewash them. I can't remember anyone doing that to them, certainly not in 最近の years.'
