The 'goal that never was' - is this the most ridiculous 審判(をする)ing 決定/判定勝ち(する) ever?

Watford 2 Reading 2

Watford 生き残るd a 審判(をする)ing 失敗 of monumental ineptness (打撃,刑罰などを)与えるd on them by the youngest, and 明らかに most 約束ing 審判(をする) on English football's エリート 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる).
It was the 単独の 責任/義務 of match 公式の/役人 Stuart Attwell to award Reading a goal in, 適切な enough, the 13th minute that 明確に wasn't a goal.

It wasn't even remotely a 合法的な strike from Reading. Even Attwell's first reaction was to award a goal-kick. But, after a 壊滅的な 介入 by one of his assistants, Nigel Bannister, Attwell changed his mind, to the enragement of the Watford players, to the bewilderment of 経営者/支配人 Adey Boothroyd and the 不信 of a 14,766 (人が)群がる inside Vicarage Road.

Outrageous: Reading's Noel 追跡(する) kicks the ball 支援する in play but it's given as a goal by 審判(をする) Stuart Attwell

Football has always been the 支配する of an 時折の mistake but 普通は when it 関心s a possible goal the 疑問s arise about whether or not the ball had crossed the line. On this occasion it was nowhere 近づく, nowhere between the 地位,任命するs.

When Stephen 追跡(する)'s corner was chested 負かす/撃墜する by Watford defender John Eustace, the ball glided four yards to the left of keeper Scott Loach's 地位,任命する. It was only when Attwell realised that Bannister had earlier signalled for a goal that the embarrassing 決定/判定勝ち(する) was 批准するd.

Should have gone to SpecSavers: 審判(をする) Stuart Attwell (third left) and his assistants leave the pitch after 原因(となる)ing a 嵐/襲撃する of 論争

This is almost unique in its crassness and without a 疑問 it will mean that Attwell's quick 昇進/宣伝 will be 立ち往生させるd, if not 停止(させる)d 完全に, for the foreseeable 未来.
Not even Reading's players or 経営者/支配人 Steve Coppell could understand how a goal could materialise from such a 状況/情勢.

追跡(する), who 配達するd the corner, was honest enough to say: 'That's the worst 決定/判定勝ち(する) I've ever see n. I thought it was a goal-kick and was walking 支援する when I realised we'd been given a goal.'

Master blunderer: 審判(をする) Stuart Attwell sends Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd to the stands for complaining

And Coppell 追加するd: 'I was in the stand and I couldn't understand what had happened or indeed why.

'I thought he had blown for either a 解放する/自由な-kick or a goal-kick.

'We didn't talk about it at half-time but if it wasn't a goal we wouldn't want it.
'At the same time it's not the 責任/義務 of the 対立 to 裁判官 権利 or wrong. It's up to the 審判(をする) to get it 権利.'

Noel 追跡(する) was 公式に awarded a goal that wasn't and at least Boothroyd was able to admire the resilience of his team to 行う/開催する/段階 a 復帰 from such an outrageous 後退.

Tommy Smith equalised with his fourth goal of the season in the 57th minute from a smartly-taken 発射 and John-Jo O'道具 発射 them in 前線 in the 64th minute.

Attwell, who had the audacity to 解任する Boothroyd to the stand between those two goals for challenging another 決定/判定勝ち(する), this time not to 許す a quickly-taken throw-in, made the last 重要な 決定/判定勝ち(する) of the afternoon four minutes from time.

Boothroyd said: 'I was bemused from the start and still am. The mistake cost us although, to be fair to him, he was only going with what his linesman advised him. He could have overlooked him, the 審判(をする)s do have a difficult 職業. I thought it was a goal-kick but what do you say? It's a strange 状況/情勢.'

Stung: Hornets' players surround 審判(をする) Attwell (wonder if the club will be 罰金d for that?) after the ghost goal

Boothroyd will fill in the 査定/評価 form which will not be 肉親,親類d to Attwell. He 追加するd: 'I will receive a call about this for sure. There are times when you think everything is conspiring against you and that was the 事例/患者 when that goal was 許すd. That's how I felt. It would have been nice to have talked abou t our courage and the 態度 of my players to come 支援する from that.'
