With 21 国籍s at the ready there is only one 地元の hero in Manchester

The rising 星／主役にする of English football was just five years old when he begged an older boy who lived over the road to let him play in the games of street football that 定期的に took place outside their homes.

Danny Welbeck has not forgotten the part Wes Brown, th en a 16-year-old Manchester 部隊d 訓練生, played in his football education. And Brown has not forgotten the instant impression the younger boy made.

'We didn't encourage it at first - we thought Danny could get 傷つける,' 解任するs Brown, who knew the rough nature of even the friendliest kickabout in inner-city Manchester.

'But the 関心 didn't last long, to be honest. Once Danny got started, you could see he was decent. He had the 技術s and he could look after himself.'

On Sunday, those 技術s learned on the streets will see Welbeck step out at Old Trafford as the only born-and-bred 地元の in the biggest Manchester derby for nearly 40 years - and no player の中で the 21 different 国籍s on show will be 扱う／治療するd with greater affection by 部隊d 経営者／支配人 Sir Alex Ferguson, who has finally 達成するd his long-time ambition of discovering a 広大な／多数の／重要な Mancunian striker for 部隊d.

Such was Ferguson's belief in Welbeck that he kept 約束 in the striker even when growth spurts left him weak, gangly and 傷害-傾向がある. Five goals this season and a likely place in England's Euro 2012 squad show Ferguson's long-称する，呼ぶ／期間／用語 instincts were 権利, 特に as the 6ft 3in 攻撃する，衝突する man was 選ぶd ahead of Wayne Rooney for last 週末's game against Liverpool at Anfield.

'He had 膝 problems growing up but we were always willing to wait for him. He's different, rangy and long-legged. Once he gets going, he gallops quickly. He has a 広大な／多数の／重要な 未来.'

It all started for Welbeck at Markfield Avenue, a 狭くする, winding road of terraces and 半分s in the Manchester inner-city 地区 of Longsight, an area most 運動 past in a hurry as they take the A6 south from the city centre に向かって Stockport. Its only remarkable feature is the ability to produce footballers.

At No 42, with a 部隊d-red 前線 door, lived the Browns. Wes, now at Sunderland, played for England as a 十代の少年少女 and won the 支持する／優勝者s League with 部隊d. Youngest brother Reece is 現在／一般に on 部隊d's 調書をとる／予約するs while another sibling, Clive, still lives on the road and plays 非，不，無- League football for New Mills.

On the opposite 味方する of the street (until their house was 破壊するd to make way for a new playground area) were the Welbecks. 勝利者 and Elizabeth had emigrated from Ghana and passed 負かす／撃墜する Christian values to their three sons, Wayne (who plays for 非，不，無- League Flixton), Christopher and football-daft Danny.

'It was always the Browns and the Welbecks playing football in the streets. Wes joined in when he could,' 解任するs Clive Brown. 'It was a 広大な／多数の／重要な 始める，決める-up. I never remember him getting into any type of trouble.

'He was modest about his football, too. I remember one lady PE teacher coming to me spitting feathers on one occasion, complaining that Danny was 辞退するing to sprint 200metres in a Games lesson.

By the end of his time at Trinity, Welbeck would occasionally be away to play in overseas tournaments with 部隊d and England. But he still turned out for the school team when he could.

Coach Darren Westmoreland 解任するs a cup game against Manchester 学院. 'They equalised with two minutes to go and, from kick-off, Danny went up the other end and 得点する／非難する／２０d the 勝利者 within 20 seconds.

'His 態度 was 広大な／多数の／重要な. He was used to working with the 最高の，を越す coaches at Manchester 部隊d but if I asked him to play a 確かな way for the good of our team, he'd listen and do it.

'We keep in touch. I recently asked him to 調印する a shirt for a friend of 地雷 - he （機の）カム into school to return it 本人自身で. When I looked at it, he'd got the whole 部隊d squad to 調印する it.'

For all Welbeck's 技術, his 進歩 between 14 and 18 was 妨害するd by growth spurts that left him 'weak and gangly', によれば Ferguson, and 原因（となる）d him 傷害 problems.

'Danny has the size, the 力／強力にする and the strength. He has the 技術 and the technical ability. He has the 乗り気 to learn. He has it all, 現実に,' says Brown.
