GRAHAM WESTLEY: We know the 半端物s will be against us when we 直面する Everton but we don't care... I'm ready to 殺す another 巨大(な)!

Graham Westley talks about his difficult season at Stevenage

Graham Westley is 現在/一般に in his third (一定の)期間 in 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金 of League One 味方する Stevenage. The Boro 現在/一般に 嘘(をつく) 底(に届く) of the third tier but will take a welcome break from league 活動/戦闘 when they host Everton in the FA Cup fourth 一連の会議、交渉/完成する at the Lamex Stadium this 週末. In his 最新の Footballers' Football Column, Westley explains how he's trying to turn things around at Stevenage and why Roberto Martinez's 首相 League high-flyers could be in for a shock on Saturday...

It has not been the best year for me. I was 解雇(する)d by Preston North End in February last year after just 13 months but then I returned to my spiritual home in Stevenage at a time when the club had 苦しむd 14 敗北・負かすs in 17 games.

We won the first game after my return and followed that up with a draw at Portsmouth to 確実にする 生き残り, but we are 現在/一般に 底(に届く) of League One after a difficult first half to the season.

My 職業 now 伴う/関わるs 減ずるing costs rather than 調印 players. It was a difficult season at the club last season, before I returned the (人が)群がるs were on the slide, cup runs were 非,不,無-existent and player sales 乾燥した,日照りのing up. As a result I had to do my bit to solve the 財政上の problem that I 相続するd.

I am philosophical about things. I wish I could 追加する the players that we need but I can’t so I have to develop them.

That is the 職業 so I’m certainly not going to complain about it. That is the challenge here. We have 調印するd 12 players this year 含むing three loanees, but they are おもに players from lower levels needing 開発 or young players with 可能性のある but little experience.

We have moved 15 out and five more experienced lads are 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる)d to go. The team has 苦しむd from all the change, 自然に, but the work had to be done for the good of the club in the long 称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語.

いつかs you have to take 勇敢に立ち向かう steps and some 苦痛 to 逆転する direction. It has been a 堅い first half to the season.

But now that things are settling 負かす/撃墜する, it is up to us to produce 20 strong league 業績/成果s that 安全な・保証する us our League One place next season; and I mean sooner rather than later. We can do that. I have no 疑問. I don’t 計画(する) to go into April feeling nervous!

But the FA Cup has 供給するd welcome 救済 with 勝利,勝つs over Portsmouth, Stourbridge and Doncaster creating the fourth-一連の会議、交渉/完成する place that saw us draw Everton, a 味方する we played in the 資本/首都 One Cup earlier in the season.

We lost 辛うじて in extra time at Goodison to a late Marouane Fellaini goal. And although they were at a formative 行う/開催する/段階 in Roberto Martinez’s 任期, we gave a good account of ourselves. Greg Tansey (機の)カム の近くに to winning it for us at the end of normal time.

We are 100 per cent a better 味方する now. And I can say 100 per cent, that they will not play a stronger 味方する than us at Goodison Park this season.

Their game against Liverpool on Tuesday is too big for Roberto to do that. He would be hung drawn and 4半期/4分の1d if Romelu Lukaku and Co 行方不明になるd out on Tuesday because of Saturday’s game. This is 支持する/優勝者s League 資格 we are talking about.

But whatever the game looks like on paper, we know that the 半端物s will be against us, にもかかわらず our strong 巨大(な)-殺人,大当り 記録,記録的な/記録する. That doesn’t worry us. But it is a fa ct.

The big 問題/発行するs in the game are ありそうもない to be too different from the game at the Lamex Stadium in January 2011 in which we knocked out Alan Pardew’s Newcastle.

We won that game because we knew our pitch, because we kept our discipline in a 競争の激しい 衝突/不一致 whilst they saw red, because we 遂行する/発効させるd a very 井戸/弁護士席 用意が出来ている game 計画(する), and 率直に because we 手配中の,お尋ね者 to 勝利,勝つ more than them on the day.

The pitch isn’t in the best 条件 because of the 天候; our groundstaff are first class people and professionals but the 容積/容量 of rain has killed them. The pitch is difficult which will give us a 抱擁する advantage because we have been able to train on it and really familiarise ourselves with it.

Our 焦点(を合わせる) on strong discipline was really turned up when we opened our doors ten days ago and ran a 共同の workshop for the players with the 審判(をする)s' 協会. It was a 広大な/多数の/重要な success and we received fantastic feedback. We just want our learning lads to better understand the dos and don’ts and to learn to work with 公式の/役人s for the good of the game.

Our game 計画(する) has to be 権利 because of the 質 of the players we will 直面する. The fact that we have a number of our lads with their own 首相 League experiences Filipe Morais, Chris Day, Jimmy Smith, Ben Chorley and Luke Freeman, Dean Parrett has played in the Europa League with 刺激(する)s and we have another player who has won 昇進/宣伝 to the 首相 League. It 簡単に underpins our knowledge that you cannot underestimate the lads we will be 直面するing. It also 確実にするs that we won’t 過大評価する anyone either.

And then at a will to 勝利,勝つ level, there can be no ambiguity. Everton can take the prize money in their stride. We can’t. It fundamentally changes our club if we 勝利,勝つ. That is the 規模 of the victory fo r us. We 簡単に have to run through brick 塀で囲むs, in the 権利 way.

Whilst I am building a 戦略 and bringing Stevenage 支援する to life I remain a strong minded character and 正規の/正選手 contributor to the マスコミ. talkSPORT 定期的に feature my ‘Big Idea’ and just last week I talked about introducing a 必要物/必要条件 on clubs to play a 確かな 百分率 of their playing hours through home-grown under 20s.

For the long 称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語 利益 of the game, we should 軍隊 経営者/支配人s to play youngsters. It would 刺激する 管理の 利益/興味 in 青年 structures and it would 確実にする that the necessity to get results didn’t stifle 適切な時期s for talent to grow. Our better youngsters would 改善する faster, I am 納得させるd.

Struggling: Stevenage are currently bottom of League One and most recently lost to Notts County (above)

Struggling: Stevenage are 現在/一般に 底(に届く) of League One and most recently lost to Notts 郡 (above)

I believe that a fourth 代用品,人 ? who is under 20 - could be introduced to 容易にする some of the 要求するd hours 存在 (軍隊を)展開する,配備するd from the (法廷の)裁判.

I am 決定するd to be a success and it will not be a surprise to see Ste venage begin to rise once more, and the 半端物s probably aren’t stacked as ひどく against Boro as I might think in the cup.

I am up for the challenge and ready to 殺す another 巨大(な) at the Lamex.
