Madrid is still buzzing with talk of Bale’s wonder goal, and a 需要・要求するing Real support appears 納得させるd at last that he is worthy of the famous white shirt.

1. John Charles - Juventus

If there is a smattering of Italian that is 即時に recognised and understood by most British football fans, it is surely Il Gigante Buono. For those still in the dark, it means The Gentle 巨大（な）, and it is how Charles （機の）カム to be known during a spectacularly successful career with Juventus.

It was his goalscoring that made him an instant 攻撃する，衝突する in Serie A, yet he first made his 示す at 物陰／風下d as a centre half. His debut was in a friendly against Queen of the South, where he （機の）カム up against Scotland centre 今後 Billy Houliston. 3. Kevin Keegan ? Hamburg

5. David Platt ? Bari, Juventus, Sampdoria

When the 解放する／自由な-得点する／非難する／２０ing Aston 郊外住宅 midfielder 長，率いるd for Serie A and joined Bari for £5.5million in July 1991, there were some 疑惑s over his choice of club, not least from ex-Sampdoria striker Trevor Francis, who said: ‘I don’t 疑問 David has what it 要求するs to 後継する in Italy, but I’m not sure he can do it with Bari. 8. Gareth Bale ? Real Madrid

Talent in 豊富 is an obvious 必要条件 for making it の中で the galacticos of Real Madrid but so is 神経 and self-belief. When you （太陽，月の）食／失墜 Cristiano Ronaldo as the world’s most expensive player then take your place と一緒に him at the biggest club in the game, there’s no room for even a shred of self-疑問.

That was never likely to be a problem for Bale when he left Tottenham last summer and 長，率いるd for the Bernabeu for £86m. Normal and self-effacing as he may sound whenever he is interviewed, he always had a 燃やすing ambition to stride the world’s biggest 行う／開催する／段階, and as soon as he heard of Real’s 利益／興味 last season, he could think of nothing but blending with Ronaldo and the 残り／休憩（する） and 実験（する）ing himself in the 支持する／優勝者s League.

10. Gerry Hitchens ? の間の Milan, Torino, Atalanta, Cagliari
