Aston 郊外住宅 1 West Ham 0

Television's Big Brother has been 原因(となる)ing a 動かす and there is every 指示,表示する物 a man with that 愛称 will do likewise for Aston 郊外住宅 over the next few years.

John Carew had the moniker bestowed on him minutes after walking into 郊外住宅’s dressing-room. His sidekick Ashley Young landed the tag Little Brother.

But what the 郊外住宅 squad may 欠如(する) in 乾燥した,日照りの humour they made up for on the pitch as a bumper (人が)群がる 証言,証人/目撃するd a 味方する in claret and blue carrying a 本物の goal 脅し for the first time in years, thanks to the two new boys.

True, West Ham played the part of willing stooges to perfection. But with the feckless Milan Baros shunted off to Lyon in 交流 for Carew and the 効果のない/無能な Juan Pablo Angel not even on the (法廷の)裁判, boss ツバメ O’Neill tied his colours 堅固に to the mast.

And the 調印するs are that Carew, who 動揺させるd in the only goal on 36 minutes, can follow in the footsteps of some 教団 Holte End heroes. Andy Lochhead, Andy Gray and Peter Withe were real 焦点の points for home punters. They have not had a tall, ぎこちない 今後 to 称讃する for some time. They do now.

And with livewires Young and Gabriel Agbonlahor operating around the big fellow, 郊外住宅’s run-in suddenly looks いっそう少なく troublesome.

‘They’ve had fantastic centre 今後s here, my old friend Peter Withe 存在 one of them,’ said O’Neill. ‘Carew is a really decent player. If he can stay fit, he’ll be a big 取得/買収 for us.

‘He 証明するd himself in Spanish football and he can adjust to the 首相の職. When he gets

適切に fit in a couple of weeks’ he’ll be even more of a 脅し.

‘I just felt he would give us something. I thought Carew and Young could play together because Young can 軽視する the 権利, 負かす/撃墜する the left and up the middle. I’ve seen him play all three for Watford.

‘And Phil Bardsley has joined that 乗組員, too. All three of them drove in late for training the other day, which is good news for me because we can 罰金 them. They weren’t 極端に happy with Bardsley, who got himself stuck in a traffic jam. But he’s a chirpy fellow, too. They have given us all a 上げる.’

There is more to Carew than 会合,会うs the 注目する,もくろむ. At one point, he tried to out-run Calum Davenport 負かす/撃墜する the left. Few in the (人が)群がる gave him much chance. It was evident from the absence of any team-mates in the 刑罰,罰則 area that they 株d that 見解(をとる), until a pin-point cross (機の)カム over.

‘I really enjoyed it out there,’ said the 6ft 4in Carew. ‘The group get on really 井戸/弁護士席. I can see 可能性のある in this team. I feel there is ambition in the club. Hopefully I’m going to play for Norway this week and that will 改善する my fitness. The 経営者/支配人 was happy.’

Carew was carrying a laptop and 明確に has a keener sense of humour than his new 同僚s. ‘It is to watch DVDs on the 計画(する),’ he explained. ‘Big man, big laptop. Ashley has a small one.’

At least, with the glaring exception of Luis Boa Morte, West Ham put up a fight. But even before the loss of Matthew Upson after just 28 minutes, they appeared a disparate bunch rather than a 本物の team.

It still took two excellent late saves from the さもなければ underworked Thomas Sorensen to

妨げる them leaving 郊外住宅 Park with a point. George McCartney also flung himself at a ball and 攻撃する,衝突する the 妨げる/法廷,弁護士業 as a crazy flurry almost brought reward.

郊外住宅 were on 最高の,を越す before Upson was 軍隊d to やめる with a calf 傷害, so it is difficult to 査定する/(税金などを)課す his 衝撃. His 傷害 was 苦しむd in almost 正確に/まさに the same 位置/汚点/見つけ出す on the pitch where he 決裂d an Achilles ahead of the Birmingham derby 10 months ago.

‘権利 now I’m feeling a mixture of emotions,’ said the £7.5million defender. ‘It’s not a very lucky ground for me but that’s life. It’s not all doom and gloom.

‘I just landed off balance and put too much 強調する/ストレス through my 権利 calf. No major problem, just a tightness. We’ll see how it is tomorrow. I’m going to have a ざっと目を通す and hopefully it will settle 負かす/撃墜する ― fingers crossed.

‘I’m desperate to play and keep this club in the 首相の職. That’s what I’ve been brought here to do and I feel an 義務 to do that. I want to play at the 最高の,を越す level.

‘I feel in the 条件, in my 団体/死体 and in my mind, that I can do that and I felt really good on the pitch. I felt 安定した, 静める and 肉体的に in good 条件. The 傷害 is one of those things. I just have to think 前向きに/確かに and get 支援する quickly.

‘I’ve spoken to Birmingham 経営者/支配人 Steve Bruce. Our 関係 is 罰金. We thanked each other for the past four years and we move on. His 支配する is with Birmingham’s board. How did they get on today? I’m hoping West Ham play

Birmingham in the 首相の職 next season. That would be ideal.

‘There’s no panic 駅/配置するs at West Ham yet. From what I’ve seen so far, this team have the 質 and the players to stay in the 首相の職. We just need a bit more belief.’

With two 王室の relegation 戦う/戦いs against Watford and Charlton around the corner, Alan Curbishley could do with finding that belief sooner rather than later ― or panic really will 始める,決める in..
