Armstrong 麻薬ing saga takes fresh turn as US 政府 joins 訴訟 to （人命などを）奪う，主張する $100m from 不名誉d cyclist

The 部隊d 明言する／公表するs 政府 has 確認するd it has joined a civil 訴訟 against Lance Armstrong to （人命などを）奪う，主張する around $100million from the 不名誉d cyclist.

The US 司法省 took the 適切な時期 to join a whistle-blowing 訴訟 とじ込み／提出するd by Armstrong's former team-mate, Floyd Landis, who 主張するs the Texan defrauded the US 政府 when it sponsored the 部隊d 明言する／公表するs 郵便の Service team.

The 訴訟 was とじ込み／提出するd under the 誤った （人命などを）奪う，主張するs 行為／法令／行動する and 供給するs for the 回復 of three times the 損害賠償金, 加える 刑罰，罰則s, and also 含むs the 可能性 of the whistle-blower 株ing in any 基金s 回復するd.

The USPS 後援 was from 1999 to 2004, with US dollars 31m paid between 2001 and 2004 alone, the 司法省 said.

A 声明 read: 'The 司法省 発表するd today that the 政府 has joined a civil 訴訟 主張するing that Lance Armstrong, Johan Bruyneel and Tailwind Sports LLC and Tailwind Sports 会社／団体 (Tailwind) submitted or 原因（となる）d the submission of 誤った （人命などを）奪う，主張するs to the US 郵便の Service (USPS) in 関係 with its 後援 of a professional bicycle racing team by 定期的に 雇うing banned 実体s and methods to 高める their 業績／成果, in 違反 of the USPS 後援 協定s.

'From 1996 through 2004, the USPS sponsored a professional cycling team owned by Tailwind and its 前任者s.

'Lance Armstrong was the lead rider on the team, and between 1999 and 2004, he won six 連続した 小旅行する de フラン 肩書を与えるs as a member of the USPS-sponsored team.

'Johan Bruyneel was the directeur sportif, or 経営者／支配人, of the cycling team.'

After years of 否定s, Armstrong last month 認める to using 業績／成果-高めるing 麻薬s in each of his seven 小旅行する de フラン 勝利，勝つs.

In a television interview with Oprah Winfrey, Armstrong 自白するd after 屈服するing to the 負わせる of 証拠 収集するd by the 部隊d 明言する／公表するs Anti-麻薬ing 機関.

会談 between Armstrong, his 代表者／国会議員s and the 司法省 broke 負かす／撃墜する ahead of the 政府 joining the 訴訟.

In a 声明 Robert Luskin, counsel to Armstrong, said: 'Lance and his 代表者／国会議員s worked constructively over these last weeks with 連邦の lawyers to 解決する this 事例／患者 公正に／かなり, but those 会談 failed because we 同意しない about whether the 郵便の Service was 損失d.

'The 郵便の's Services own 熟考する／考慮するs show that the Service 利益d tremendously from its 後援 - 利益s totalling more than US dollars 100 million.'

The formal （民事の）告訴 will be とじ込み／提出するd w ithin 60 days.

Ronald C. Machen Jr, US 弁護士／代理人／検事 for the 地区 of Columbia, said: 'Lance Armstrong and his cycling team took more than US Dollars 30 million from the US 郵便の Service based on their contractual 約束 to play fair and がまんする by the 支配するs - 含むing the 支配するs against 麻薬ing.

'The 郵便の Service has now seen its 後援 不公平に associated with what has been 述べるd as 'the most sophisticated, professionalised, and successful 麻薬ing program that sport has ever seen'.

'This 訴訟 is designed to help the 郵便の Service recoup the tens of millions of dollars it paid out to the Tailwind cycling team based on years of broken 約束s.

'In today's 経済的な 気候, the US 郵便の Service is 簡単に not in a position to 許す Lance Armstrong or any of the other 被告s to walk away with the tens of millions of dollars they illegitimately procured.'

Earlier this week, Armstrong 辞退するd USADA's request to an interview under 誓い, にもかかわらず 主張するing he is 用意が出来ている to help to clean up cycling.

His lawyer, Tim Herman, 明言する／公表するd Armstrong 'will not 参加する in USADA's 成果／努力s to selectively 行為／行う American 起訴s that only demonise selected individuals'.
