Liz Yelling has become accustomed to 審理，公聴会 shouts of 'Come on, Paula' when she runs on the streets of the 資本／首都. But she needed no 激励 yesterday to 勝利，勝つ the race within a race の中で the British ― for the final place と一緒に Paula Radcliffe on the start line for the Olympic マラソン in Beijing.

Yelling has been Radcliffe's

friend since they joined the same

Bedford club as children. She is

coached by the same coach, Alex

did not see Yelling again until after

the finish line, her only reward for

2:29:18 for 12th place. "I'd be

pretty disappointed if they didn't

選ぶ me now," said Yelling. "It's been really nice to have some

attention this week with Paula

and Mara not here. And this year

they didn't get my 指名する wrong.

Things are looking up for me."

Without Radcliffe to give a lead,

the women's race was the slowest

for eight years, won in 2:24:14 by

Irina Mikitenko, 35, a pairs 人物／姿／数字
