MARTIN SAMUEL: Why 未来 of Eddie Jones as England 長，率いる coach is the real elephant in the room ahead of the Six Nations

The last team to 勝利，勝つ the Six Nations on the 支援する of a losing Rugby World Cup final was ― oh wait, sorry, there isn't one.

England won in 1992, having 以前 lost the final to Australia, and フラン 株d the トロフィー with むちの跡s in 1988 not long after 敗北・負かす by the All 黒人／ボイコットs, but these 勝利s were in the days of the Five Nations.

In the modern 時代, three teams from Europe have gone into the 競争 as losing World Cup finalists and all have been beaten in two of their five games.

Yet who could 取って代わる Jones, like for like? And s urely that person needs more than two years with his squad ― 特に if the Saracens 次第で変わる／派遣部隊 have been experiencing the ramifications of their 禁止（する）, with no prospect of European rugby for at least another year.

Rassie Erasmus was いっそう少なく than two years in 告発（する），告訴（する）／料金 of South Africa before 解除するing the Webb Ellis トロフィー last November, but he was に引き続いて the unimpressive Allister Coetzee. It will be far harder erasing or adapting the methods of a coaching personality as strong as Jones.

As much as he 小衝突s 憶測 away, his own 未来 is the elephant in the room.

Jones is again talking about creating the best team in the world, but how, when the last two years of its 開発 is in the 手渡すs of ― who? A stranger, as yet unknown.

Jones has already identified three 可能性のある problem areas ― complacency, 打ち勝つing 増加するd 期待 and the 改良s 伸び（る）d by 競争相手s through 法廷の examination.

And the Glazers are 投資家s, not custodians. They will have a price, and the Saudis are の中で the few who could afford it.

FLIGHT OF FOLLY FOR RASHFORD??

'Rashford off to 最高の Bowl as he steps up fitness 戦う／戦い,' read the headline. The story 確認するd that, yes indeed, Marcus Rashford was 準備するing to 飛行機で行く to Miami this 週末 for 最高の Bowl LIV between the Kansas City 長，指導者s and the San Francisco 49ers.

DON'T AIRBRUSH KOBE'S PAST?

On social マスコミ this week, a lot of people who had never met Kobe Bryant 申し込む／申し出d their thoughts on his sad passing.

It can happen in life, too, as the organisers of the Australian Open are discovering as they grapple around the 承認 of Margaret 法廷，裁判所.

I wrote this newspaper's 尊敬の印 to Bryant on Sunday, the one that appeared in the sports pages the next day. Three ４半期/4分の1s in, I paused and wondered whether to 含む について言及する of the 強姦 主張 against him.

I decided it didn't feel 権利 to 記録，記録的な／記録する that, but not other 面s of his personal life. So the piece 限られた／立憲的な itself to Bryant the baller, to his 影響（力） on the sport, his 運動競技の style, the 尊敬（する）・点 of his peers. But that doesn't mean there are not other stories to be told; and because some 会葬者s do not want to hear them, it does not mean they do not 存在する.

This newspaper has received a （民事の）告訴 from 行方不明になる Chiara Giuffrida in relation to an article from January 15 headlined: 'Manchester City 星／主役にするs flew 22 Italian models to £150-a-night Cheshire hotel for 'Bunga-Bunga' party to cele brate 6-1 勝利，勝つ.'

She （人命などを）奪う，主張するd that she had in fact travelled to Manchester for the 単独の 目的 of working as a sports 新聞記者／雑誌記者.

反して I travelled to Manchester with the 単独の 目的 of finding a 'Bunga-Bunga' party and ended up with a career in sports journalism.

SALA'S WORTH TO CARDIFF: NOTHING?

Cardiff made a 深く心に感じた show of sadness and noble 記念 on the 周年記念日 of Emiliano Sala's death. That has been their 戦略 all along: admirable dignity in 前線 of the cameras.
