Pyeongchang, South Korea

Rostov Veliky, Russia Suddenly, making crazy crustacean 形態／調整s in the snow doesn't seem so mad. For an utterly chilly idea, look to the historic town of Rostov Veliky, 124 miles from Moscow. On January 19, townsfolk take to the waters as part of 伝統的な Epiphany 祝賀s. This poor mite may be smiling but the chances are she was grinning when she dived into these icy waters and her fac e has just frozen that way.

Jakarta, Indonesia

Tangerine dreams are 存在 収穫d in Jakarta this week. The fruit trees, 輸入するd from 中国, are only 利用できる for 購入（する） once a year - in time to celebrate Chinese New Year. Get 'em while they're orange.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur shows it can 競争相手 Manhattan when it comes to awe-奮起させるing skylines. The image above shows the sun setting on the Petronas Twin Towers and the Kuala Lumpur Tower (to the left of the picture).

Tasmania, Australia

悲劇 struck on the Australian island 明言する／公表する of Tasmania this week, when part of a pod of sperm 鯨s became beached on the shores of Perkins Island. Only two of the 鯨s 生き残るd after 救助者s' 成果／努力s were 妨害するd by high tides.

San Esteban de Pravia, Northern Spain

Kagools at the ready! This tiny Spanish fishing village became a 嵐／襲撃する 探検者s' nirvana last week when the sea swelled and 衝突，墜落d almighty waves against the lighthouse and shoreline.

The Wilkins Ice Shelf, Antarctica

Antarctica serves up yet another potent 宣伝 for saving the 惑星. You can almost hear the ice 割れ目ing in this image as The Wilkins Ice Shelf, just off the 南極の 半島, is photographed breaking up. The 最新の 犠牲者 of 全世界の warming, this 抱擁する shelf is on the brink of total 崩壊（する） and is now relying on a 壊れやすい sliver of ice to 持つ／拘留する it in place. 再生利用する, 再生利用する, 再生利用する TravelMailers...

Vina del 損なう city, Chile

The mile-high club is so pass?, dahling! Our friends in Chile have brought a whole new meaning to the idea of a '（米）棚上げする／（英）提議する with a 見解（をとる）' by dangling thrill-捜し出すing diners from a crane to 確実にする their three-courses come 完全にする with helpings of 360° panoramic 見解（をとる）s. Washington, America

This isn't the handiwork of a desperate pap dangling himself from a ヘリコプター in search of an 排除的 either. Instead, it comes 儀礼 of clever 衛星 photographer GeoEye.

Puri, India

Over in India, the arrival of America's 44th 大統領 has been 祝う／追悼するd (albeit 一時的に) in sand. Sculptor and artist Sudarshan Pattnaik chose a beach in Puri, 41 miles from Bhubaneswar to build this all American 神社. Let's hope 大統領 Obama isn't a wash-out.
