Each year, Hindus celebrate Holi by throwing coloured 砕く on each other in what is one of the most vibrant events in the world.
The two-day festival, celebrated during the 十分な-moon in the month of Phalguna (February or March on the Gregorian calender), 示すs the end of winter, the beginning of spring and a whole new season.
But in a town called Vrindavan in northern India, where the god Krishna 恐らく spent his childhood, the festival is celebrated for 16 days.
In two separate trips to the town in 2013 and 2015, photographer Pascal Mannaerts has 逮捕(する)d the みごたえのある atmosphere of the 祝賀s.
He said: 'During the Holi, social 障壁s get broken, people feast together, 関わりなく differences in age, sex, status and caste.?It is the time when the castes mingle, where the lower have the 権利 to 侮辱 those to whom they had to 屈服する throughout the?year. Rich and poor, men and women, all celebrate together.'?
This year, the festivities will begin on March 24.?

Phalguna, on the Hindu calendar, 落ちるs in February or March on the Gregorian calendar but there are also Holi-主題d festivals celebrating Holi at other times of the year
