It's fair to say we are a nation of 質問(する) fanatics.
There's a 推論する/理由 why even in lockdown we were all busily arranging online pub quizzes with our friends and family.?
Not only were they a 広大な/多数の/重要な way to stay in 接触する with our loved ones, but they went a long way to 取って代わるing our usual nights out at the 地元の.
And there's a long history of 質問(する) shows on British television too, with one of the toughest making a very welcome return to our 審査するs this month.
Now in its 22nd series, Eggheads has a new home on Channel 5,?weekdays at 6.30pm, or you can stream the series so far now on My5, and fans will be happy to hear that while it's a new channel, the show is the same.

Hosted by Jeremy Vine, this much-loved programme sees amateur quizzers take on arguably the toughest 質問(する) team in Britain, The Eggheads.
Made up of some of the country's most エリート quizzers, it seems there's nothing they don't know! Each team of 挑戦者s must compete against the Eggheads across a 一連の hard-hitting general knowledge 一連の会議、交渉/完成するs, in the hopes of winning a cash prize.
If the Eggheads 勝利,勝つ (which they do a lot!) the prize rolls over until there's a team of 挑戦者s strong enough to (警官の)巡回区域,受持ち区域 them.?

How did you get into quizzing??
'I did Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? That was the first 質問(する) I ever did, apart from occasionally playing Trivial 追跡 and things like that, so that’s how I got into it. I was just incredibly lucky to have won it.'
What's your favourite thing about 存在 an Egghead?
'It’s just a 広大な/多数の/重要な fun show to make. It’s very laid 支援する, 平易な-going, everybody gets on and we’re looked after incredibly 井戸/弁護士席.'?
How do you feel when the 挑戦者s 勝利,勝つ??
'I’m not happy for the 挑戦者s! I feel very disappointed when we lose.'?

Barry says:?'I’m quizzing with some of the finest 質問(する) brains on the 惑星. What could be better than that?'
Not only did Barry 勝利,勝つ Brain of Britain in 2013, he'd been a finalist in 2008 and 2009 too.
He also won?Are You An Egghead? in 2008 so that could explain why he's such an integral part of the Eggheads team today.?
How did you get into quizzing??
'I watched quizzes all my life and I got into quizzing when I worked in IT and one of the guys said "Come along to a 質問(する), you’ll enjoy it". So I went along and 設立する I knew 絶対 nothing, but from that point I was 決定するd to get better. Hopefully I have but I’ve still got a lot of work to do.'
What's your favourite thing about 存在 an Egghead???
'I’m quizzing with some of the finest 質問(する) brains on the 惑星. What could be better than that? And I’m learning stuff all the time. The conversations are so wide-範囲ing and it’s wonderful to make an allusion?to something obscure and everybody knows what you’re talking about.'
How do you feel when the 挑戦者s 勝利,勝つ???
'Mostly I’m happy for them. There are a couple of teams who, if the truth be told, we weren’t too happy to lose to, but the 挑戦者s are 一般に very nice and very 有能な. I love it when decent teams (警官の)巡回区域,受持ち区域 us.'?

To say Pat is a bit of a quizzing legend is an understatement.

He has been British and World 質問(する) 支持する/優勝者 four times, won four gold メダルs in the 2016 質問(する) Olympics, became European 質問(する) 支持する/優勝者 in 2017 and 2018 and European 国家の Team 支持する/優勝者 in 2019 と一緒に fellow Eggheads Kevin and Olav.
Not to について言及する he is also a £1 million 勝利者 like Judith, and was 栄冠を与えるd Brain of Britain in 2006.

How did you get into quizzing???
'I did a few things when I was young but most of my quizzing was when I moved to Wigan for work about 20 years ago. I was 招待するd along one evening to (不足などを)補う the numbers, got 招待するd along again and it went from there.'
What's your favourite thing about 存在 an Egghead?
'It’s fun to be sitting there in the studio and once the programme starts it’s very exciting.'?
How do you feel when the 挑戦者s 勝利,勝つ??
'The 苦痛 is 緩和するd if we lose because of bad luck or because of an 優れた team. That’s fair enough but it’s more painful if one or all of us did something 完全に crackers. That’s something I like to 避ける but it does happen occasionally.'?

He won Make Me An Egghead in 2016,?Brain of Mensa 2014 and is a two-time 勝利者 of Brain of Derbyshire, 2012 and 2014.
How did you get into quizzing?
'When I was in sixth form pub quizzes had just started coming on the scene and I 設立する it to be a nice way to make a bit of money. I’d always read a lot, I’d always had a good memory and I managed to 保持する a lot of (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状).'
What's your favourite thing about 存在 an Egghead??
'If you’re a quizzer and you love quizzing, it’s the dream. You’re literally getting paid to do what you love. It’s like asking somebody who loves football "How does it feel to be playing in the 首相の職?"'
How do you feel when the 挑戦者s 勝利,勝つ???
'I feel terrible when I lose. If you enjoy losing, you’re in the wrong 職業. I’m ultra-競争の激しい and I want to do my best every time. I always congratulate my 対抗者 if they (警官の)巡回区域,受持ち区域 me, but I hate losing.'

Lisa is a TV 質問(する) 正規の/正選手 having appeared on three other 堅い general knowledge shows.
She even made an 外見 on 復讐 of the Egghead in 2014 and by becoming an Egghead herself, has 達成するd her goal of working in TV!?
How did you get into quizzing?
'I was a 悲劇の little know-it-all. I went to a school that had a 質問(する) team. I got on it very 早期に and I was?probably a couple of years younger than the other 関係者s. And I’ve always just been the sort of person who likes sticking my 手渡す in the 空気/公表する.'
What's your favourite thing about 存在 an Egghead???
'手渡すs 負かす/撃墜する 会合 the contestants. They’re what make the episodes different and they’re what make the episodes 利益/興味ing. We’ve met incredible people from a lot of different walks of life.'?

'挑戦者s have asked us that before and my honest answer is 一般に that there’s this horrible crunch of "Aargh!" and then it’s "Somebody has won some cash so it’s been a good day for them". After that you just have to dust yourself off and go again. It’s like エリート sport in that regard, although that is the only regard.'
