'I'm the Doctor': David Morrissey is hot favourite to be new Time Lord に引き続いて こそこそ動く preview of his 役割 in Christmas special

The new Time Lord? David Morrissey 言及するs to himself as 'the Doctor' in the Christmas special

Ever since David Tennant 明らかにする／漏らすd that he would be stepping 負かす／撃墜する from Doctor Who next year, 憶測 over his 交替／補充 has been rife.

So what are fans to make of the preview for the programme's Christmas episode - teasingly called The Next Doctor?

In the clip 空気／公表するd during the BBC's Children in Need show on Friday, Tennant's Doctor （機の）カム 直面する to 直面する with another man calling himself a Time Lord, who appears to be equipped with the usual Doctor Who trappings - a tardis, a 女性（の） sidekick and a sonic screw driver.

Tennant's Time Lord steps out of the tardis on Christmas Eve in 1851 and 答える／応じるs to a woman's cries of 'Doctor'.

But he arrives on the scene to find another man, played by 明言する／公表する of Play actor David Morrissey, 44, pictured.

His character also seems to be answering the woman's call.

Tennant asks him who he is, to which Morrissey replies: 'I'm the Doctor. 簡単に the Doctor. The one, the only and the best. Stand 支援する, this is a 職業 for a Time Lord.'

Tennant, who was 発表するd as the tenth Time Lord in April 2005, will step 負かす／撃墜する at the end of the year after appearing in four more special episodes.

A BBC 広報担当者 said: 'David Morrissey will be in the Doctor Who Christmas special, but we are not 確認するing who the next Doctor will be.'

'Why not?' he said. 'It's one of those parts any actor could bring something valid to, because it can be anything and it's a blank canvas every time.

'The difference is a virtue with each Doctor. It's not like you're casting Tarzan where you've got to have somebody who looks good in a loincloth.'

Piper, married to actor Laurence Fox, 29, is on a career break after the birth of their first child Winston James Fox last month.

Joanna Lumley was 示唆するd as a 女性（の） Doctor in 1981 to 取って代わる Tom パン職人 but the 役割 went to Peter Davison.

Green Wing's Julian Rhind-Tutt and Atonement 星／主役にする Benedict Cumberbatch are also under consideration.

(n)役員／(a)執行力のある 生産者 Russell T Davies is also leaving before the fifth series, which will be 審査するd in 2010. Bafta-winning writer Steven Moffat will take over.

生産者s may now use the 適切な時期 of a new 星／主役にする to turn the show darker and edgier.

Of his 役割 in the show, Tennant said: 'I've had the most brilliant, bewildering and life-changing time working on Doctor Who. I have loved every day of it.
