巡航する has 小衝突 with death

Hollywood 星／主役にする Tom 巡航する （機の）カム within インチs of death when a stunt went wrong on the 始める，決める of new movie The Last Samurai.

The actor 主張するd on doing many of his own stunts for the film's fight scenes.

He was 事実上の／代理 out one scene with Japanese co-星／主役にする Hiroyuki Sanada when a technical fault nearly led to 悲劇.

The two men were approaching one another on mechanical horses and Sanada's horse was meant to stop a 分裂（する） second before he swung his sword at 巡航する's 長，率いる.

But the 機械装置 failed and the horse carried on に向かって 巡航する - whose life was saved by Sanada's 専門家 戦争の arts 技術s.

"One day we were 狙撃, I was on a mechanical horse and Hero was on one too," 巡航する said.

"He was approaching me and then suddenly his horse 攻撃する，衝突する me and his sword was 権利 here (points an インチ from his neck).

"Luckily Hero is trained in 戦争の arts. I 信用 him."

Of another fight scene where he fights off four 攻撃者s, 巡航する said: "We 発射 the scene from the first swing all the way through to the end.

"There were over 70 points of 接触する where you could 潜在的に lose your 注目する，もくろむ, your ear or your nose.

"I've done fight scenes before but this was 意味ありげに different from anything I've ever experienced."

The actor was speaking at a 圧力（をかける） 会議／協議会 in Berlin, where the Last Samurai has its European 首相 tonight.

"The 星／主役にする is jetting in to the UK tomorrow for the London 首相.

巡航する, 41, trained for eight months in 準備 for his 役割 in the movie blockbuster and a その上の four months 研究ing Samurai history.

"I learned Kendo, swordsmanship, Japanese 戦争の arts, and all manner of 武器s 扱うing. I not only had to ride a horse, but I had to 効果的に fight while riding. I 熟考する／考慮するd Japanese. As far as training goes, you 指名する it, I've done it," he said.

巡航する has been 指名するd for a Golden Globe for his 役割 and is 堅固に tipped to earn an Oscar nominat イオン.

In the film he plays Captain Nathan Algren, a disillusioned American Civil War 退役軍人 雇うd to train Japan's first modern 徴集兵 army in the late 19th century.

The Emperor and his 助言者s want the army to eradicate the Samurai as the country opens up to 貿易（する） with the West.

But when Algren is 逮捕（する）d by Samurai leader Katsumoto, played by Ken Watanabe, he finds himself impressed by their 古代の code of honour and joins them in a last stand against the Emperor's 軍隊s.

The film also 星／主役にするs Billy Connolly as Algren's friend, Irishman Zebulon Gant, and Alf Wierdersein Pet 星／主役にする Timothy Spall as interpreter Simon Graham.

Watanabe is a renowned 行う／開催する／段階 and TV 星／主役にする in Japan and this is his first English speaking 役割.

Meanwile, 巡航する has 約束d to 調印する autographs for every fan who turns up to his British movie 首相 tomorrow night.

The big hearted actor is famed for his 非常に長い walkabouts to 会合，会う the （人が）群がるs in London's Leicester Square.

And tomorrow's 首相 for the Last Samurai could （警官の）巡回区域，受持ち区域 his previous 90 minute 記録，記録的な／記録する.

"Hey, if anyone shows up and wants my autograph, they can have it," he said. "I love coming to London and 会合 the fans."

The last time 巡航する was in Leicester Square was for the 首相 of 少数，小数派 報告（する）／憶測 in 2002, when he spent 90 minutes 調印 autographs and chatting on fans' 動きやすい phones.

The year before that he went on an hour long walkabout for the 首相 of Vanilla Sky.
