He's one of Australia's most popular personalities and has even won a Gold Logie, but Karl Stefanovic thinks he could be axed from The Today Show at any time.

The larrikin breakfast host was surprisingly candid on the »ÙÇÛ¤¹¤ë when he joined Fitzy and Wippa on their Nova FM ̵Àþ¤ÇÄÌ¿®¤¹¤ë program.

The famously É餫¤¹¡¿·âÄƤ¹¤ë-to-earth TV À±¡¿¼çÌò¤Ë¤¹¤ë brought up the »ÙÇÛ¤¹¤ë himself after this week Sunrise was ·³Ââd to ÈÝÄꤹ¤ë they had planned to get rid of host David Koch in 2011.

'As if it doesn¡Çt happen everywhere,' the 43-year-old said of TV bosses plotting to ¼è¤Ã¤ÆÂå¤ï¤ë television hosts.

'In my first year at the Today show I had three people come up to me at the car park and say, "Mate, I¡Çve just been ¿½¤·¹þ¤à¡¿¿½¤·½Ðd your ¿¦¶È" ¥Þ¥¤¥¯ Munro, Ray ¥Ä¥Ð¥á and Ben Fordham. I¡Çm 100% serious,' he ÌÀ¤é¤«¤Ë¤¹¤ë¡¿Ï³¤é¤¹d.

Rather than ¸ºß paranoid, the married father-of-three said he's just ¸ºß ¸½¼Â¼çµÁ¤Î about the ¸«¹þ¤ß of losing his Today studio seat in the ̤Íè.

'I know that "upstairs" is ³èȯ¤Ë planning to get rid of me, and I like it,' he ¼çÄ¥¤¹¤ëd, eliciting laughs from Fitzy and Wippa.

'I embrace it. I don¡ Çt care ¡½ it¡Çs best to go, "It¡Çs TV, ·ë¶É they will, so I¡Çm just gonna have a ¹­Âç¤Ê¡¿Â¿¿ô¤Î¡¿½ÅÍ×¤Ê time and sail on into the sunset,"' he said.

Karl is known as the jokester on Today, his ¿Íµ¤ µÞ¤Ë¾å¤¬¤ëing after he appeared to be tipsy on live television the morning after the Logie awards in 2009.

This week the funnyman told the Mail Online that five years later, he has finally been given µö²Ä to party again at this year's Logies on April 27.
