Next week should have seen the 高度に 心配するd return to the UK 行う／開催する／段階 of Eighties 全世界の superstars Culture Club, led by Boy George.

It is more than 30 years since they 現れるd from the London club scene to sell 50 million 記録，記録的な／記録するs with 攻撃する，衝突するs such as Karma Chameleon and Do You Really Want To 傷つける Me? before the group self-destructed in a maelstrom of 麻薬 and alcohol 乱用, bitter in-fighting and personal 悲劇 ― and a （一定の）期間 in 刑務所，拘置所 for George.

Now, with new 選び出す／独身 More Than Silence, they say they are clean, sober, fit, healthy, and all friends again. Ironically, though, their 再会 小旅行する has had to be cancelled...because George is ill!

‘I’ve got a polyp on my 声の chords,’ he explains. ‘The doctor tells me singing would 原因（となる） irreparable 損失, and that’s not a 危険 I am 用意が出来ている to take.

‘I’d been having trouble with my 発言する／表明する for some months, but in true British fashion I ignored it, thinking the problem might just be tiredness, hoping it would go away.’

When the symptoms より悪くするd, he 協議するd a 最高の，を越す specialist in Los Angeles, on the eve of a 一連の U.S. concert dates.

‘He put a camera 負かす／撃墜する my throat, and it transpired that I have an 大きくするd polyp which has haemorrhaged,’ he says. ‘So everything is on 持つ／拘留する until it gets better. I don’t know how long that will take, and to say I am 荒廃させるd barely touches how I feel.’

同様に as the American dates 存在 called off, the UK 円形競技場 shows, which were 予定 to begin in Glasgow on Monday and continue 全国的な until December 15, were also put on 持つ／拘留する.?

It’s not Culture Club’s first 試みる／企てる at 再会, but this time, they say, it’s for keeps.?

Boy George, who once pooh-poohed the idea of re-forming because ‘it would be like dragging out old 骸骨／概要s and going 支援する to your ex’, told me before his throat 条件 was 診断するd that the 重要な to this 予期しない renaissance is all-一連の会議、交渉／完成する sobriety.

‘We couldn’t do this if any of us was still drinking or doing 麻薬s; there’s just no way,’ says George, now 53.?

‘The advantage we have now is that we’ve done it, we messed it up royally, but we know how and it won’t happen again.’

In the glory days, the world seemed fascinated by the gender bending Boy George, who 現れるd with his dreadlocks, dresses, exotic make-up and Hasidic hats.?

He was witty, charming and his fans crossed all 世代s.

Then （機の）カム his public somersaults, 沈むing first into ヘロイン 中毒 in the 中央の-Eighties, 回復するing, then 落ちるing again into 麻薬 乱用 in the Nineties and not きれいにする up for good until March 2, 2008, a date 事実上 tattooed on his brain.

The 残り／休憩（する） of the 禁止（する）d has also had difficult times. Drummer Jon Moss, 57, whose 騒然とした four-year 事件／事情／状勢 with George created 緊張 and 不安定 within the 禁止（する）d, has had problems with 麻薬s and alcohol and entered rehab in 2008 苦しむing from a nervous 決裂／故障.

Guitarist Roy Hay, 53, became a コカイン （麻薬）常用者 before きれいにする up six years ago.?

He was made 破産者／倒産した, but has clawed his way 支援する as a film and TV 作曲家.

And bassist Mikey Craig, 54, whose idea the 禁止（する）d 初めは was, 苦しむd the 自殺 in a 刑務所，拘置所 独房 of his 22-year-old son Keita by his former partner Cleo, daughter of women’s 避難 選挙運動者 Erin Pizzey.

Yet here they are today, 宣言するing their re-設立する love for each other, and having received 広大な／多数の／重要な reviews for a 復帰 show at London’s Heaven nightclub.?

They have 記録，記録的な／記録するd a new album called Tribes, 予定 out in February, and from the 跡をつけるs I have heard it seems 始める，決める to 設立する their 信任状.?

Their new 選び出す／独身 More Than Silence is their first since 1999.

George tells me: ‘I wouldn’t have any of the things I have now if I hadn’t got clean. My life, without sounding too 劇の, is probably more beautiful than it’s ever been in a 肉親，親類d of understated, 簡単にするd way.’

While George’s 演劇s have been played out in the public gaze, Roy Hay, a former Essex hairdresser, has a personality that is the polar opposite.?

He is uncomfortable talking about his 戦う／戦いs.?‘For me sobriety is everything,’ he tells me.?

His 麻薬 problem and 大混乱／混沌とした lifestyle 与える／捧げるd to his 破産.?

Roy and his then wife Alison had a beautiful house in the Hollywood Hills but it had to be sold, along with most of his other 所有／入手s, to 支払う／賃金 off his 負債s.

‘I am just 感謝する to have been given another chance in life, not just with the 禁止（する）d,’ says Roy.

Mikey Craig 避けるd the hard 麻薬s horror of his 同僚s.?

His was a more 深遠な 悲劇 when son Keita, a 診断するd paranoid schizophrenic, hanged himself by his shoelaces in his 独房 at Wandsworth 刑務所，拘置所 in 2000 while on 再拘留（者） after snatching a woman’s handbag and punching a man who tried to stop him.

They have 記録，記録的な／記録するd a new album, Tribes, 予定 out in February and their new 選び出す／独身 is their first since 1999

An 検死 支配するd the 刑務所，拘置所’s neglect in returning his shoelaces to him, にもかかわらず 存在 警告するd he was a 自殺 危険, had been a 与える／捧げるing factor に向かって his death.?

The family received an 前例のない public 陳謝 from the 刑務所，拘置所 service.

‘I go 定期的に with his mother to speak with him at his graveside,’ says Mikey.

Jon Mos s 収容する／認めるs to using コカイン and drinking to 超過. He 主張するs he never became an （麻薬）常用者, though he went to rehab ‘for a clean-up’ while 苦しむing from a nervous 決裂／故障.

‘Everything was going wrong,’ he says.

Jon and George’s 事件／事情／状勢 was both a creative and a destructive 軍隊 within Culture Club.?

But when it imploded in 1985, George’s 麻薬 habit and the 禁止（する）d’s 拒絶する／低下する followed soon after.

Jon was with his wife Barbara for more than 20 years before they separated in 2010.?

They have three children. Now he sees himself as a 異性愛の who had a gay 事件／事情／状勢.

He has a combative personality and it’s 平易な to see how a few 燃やすing cinders from him would 点火（する） the George of old’s volatility. What are George’s feelings for Jon now?

‘It’s like talking about dinosaurs,’ George says dismissively. ‘I’ll notice what he wears, and make comments, but then I do that to Roy and Mikey 同様に.?

'It would be weird if I thought of Jon in the way I used to. There have been many lovers since Jon.’?

‘The difference is that 20 years ago I didn’t have an off-button, a filter, but I do now,’ 追加するs George. ‘I really try to 持続する my dignity, so I 抑制する myself from doing anything that will not make me look good.’

Jon says of George: ‘I still love him,’ though he means it in a platonic sense in the way all the 禁止（する）d members now say they love each other.

Jon’s worst memory of 存在 in Culture Club was watching Live 援助（する） on television in 1985 and knowing he should have been there.

The 禁止（する）d were 招待するd to appear by （頭が）ひょいと動く Geldof, and George made ‘half-hearted 約束s’ that they would take part, even though they didn’t really want to.

‘It was a mixture of 恐れる and loathing,’ George explained in his autobiography, Take It Like A Man.

?‘I didn’t think we could 削減（する） it in 前線 of two billion people, and I disliked the 激しく揺する pomposity of it all.’?

Another factor, though, was his spiralling 麻薬 use.

This was the 夜明けing of the end of the 禁止（する）d. Jon 解任するs: ‘The unhappiest moment was when George decided taking ヘロイン was a better career move than making another album.’

The 禁止（する）d 崩壊（する）d in 1986. They got 支援する together in 1998 for a 小旅行する and a new album the に引き続いて year, but it was an unhappy period. They 再会させるd again 簡潔に for a 20th 周年記念日 concert in 2002.

Then in 2006 perhaps the most embarrassing interlude （機の）カム about when Jon Moss decided to 改革（する） the 禁止（する）d without Boy George, 取って代わるing him with an unknown singer called Sam Butcher.

The group ended up playing at Butlins. At the time George called Butcher ‘terrible’ and ‘horrible’. Today he is more 懐柔的な.

‘I felt sorry for the guy that they roped in. It’s a big 役割 to fill,’ he says.

‘I wasn’t that nice about him and I felt 有罪の afterwards. I thought later 現実に it wasn’t his fault. He was just trying to make a career.’

‘It was just 半端物,’ he 追加するs. ‘They think it’s that simple? 非難する on some make-up?’

George would not have been ready for a 再会 at that time, anyway. He still had a few demons to work through.?

‘I was やめる grumpy then,’ he 譲歩するs, 追加するing: ‘I don’t really dwell on the past. I think that’s been my saving grace. It would be a mis take to 同様に because there’s so much to 悔いる.’

However much they are loved up with each other at the moment, Culture Club’s personalities are such that there will always be an underlying 摩擦.?

But it is ありそうもない war will 勃発する if George 持続するs his 現在の abstinence. As a Buddhist, he says 詠唱するing helps him stay 静める, too.

‘We can be blunt with each other now without anyone taking offence,’ says George.

And his 態度 has changed, too. ‘In the past I would dictate what everyone should wear,’ he says for example. The memory of some of their homoerotic outfits still rankles with the others. But recently George took them shopping for 着せる／賦与するs. ‘This time, I let them choose,’ he tells me proudly.

‘I feel very 感謝する that I’ve reached a point where I’m happy with who I am and that permeates everything I do.?

'I don’t really have a 最終的な answer as to why I’m doing this 再会. It isn’t about money. It’s something more 根底となる. I think I will work it out 結局.’
