Comedian Dave Allen dies at 68

Comedian Dave Allen has died at the age of 68, his スパイ／執行官 said.

The Irishman died in his sleep at his west London home last night.

Allen was a TV favourite with his shows Tonight With Dave Allen and Dave Allen At Large.

He leaves a wife, Karin, and three children.

Allen's スパイ／執行官, Vivienne Clore, said the 原因（となる） of death was unknown.

The comic had not been 苦しむing from any major illness.

Allen famously 配達するd his comedy 決まりきった仕事s sitting on a stool with a cigarette and drink in 手渡す.

He was considered one of the first 代案／選択肢 comedians, telling risque jokes about sex and 宗教 and making たびたび（訪れる） use of the f-word.

Born David Tynan O'Mahoney in 1936, he grew up in Dublin and moved to Britain 老年の 21.

He became a Butlins Redcoat before making his TV debut on New 直面するs in 1959.

Several years on the stand-up 回路・連盟 followed, 含むing 小旅行するs with the Beatles.

After appearing in his own show in Australia, he landed his first British TV series, Tonight With Dave Allen, in 1967 followed by The Dave Allen Show in 1968.

Dave Allen At Large began on the BBC in 1971 and ran for eight years. The mix of monologues and sketches became one of the most popular comedy shows on TV.

His last TV show, 簡単に 肩書を与えるd Dave Allen, ended in 1994.

In 最近の years he took a step 支援する from showbusiness and, as a keen amateur artist, enjoyed 展示（する）ing his own 絵s.
